ARTIST HIGHLIGHT: DISTINCT MOTIVE 🔊

2026 has been a huge year for Distinct Motive — and with a few months still left, he’s showing no signs of slowing down.

From EDC Las Vegas and Sound Haven, to B2Bs with Boogie T and dubstep legend Caspa, Distinct Motive has continued bringing his signature deep, minimal sound to some of the biggest stages across the bass scene.

This summer also brought a seven-city co-headline run with EAZYBAKED, with both artists bringing their individual sounds before joining forces B2B to close out each night.

And the music has been hitting just as hard. From “Ricky” with Wraz., to his “OMG” remix becoming a standout in the 140 scene, to “The Nick” dropping just last week on Deadbeats — his sound has been everywhere this year.

Having caught Distinct Motive more times than I can count, one thing that continues to stand out is that no two sets ever feel the same. Every set brings something different, with unreleased IDs constantly finding their way into the mix — there’s always something you haven’t heard before.

And 2026 still isn’t over. With Infrasound Equinox, Lost Lands, Wakaan, more shows alongside EAZYBAKED and Tapesgiving still ahead, there’s plenty more to come.

Between the releases, major stages, B2Bs and an unmistakable sound, Distinct Motive’s 2026 run has been one worth paying attention to.

St. Pete showed out for The Bake Out last weekend!

From the lineup to the set times, everything felt intentionally curated—starting the night with a more laid-back energy and building into a high-energy close.

What really set it apart was the sense of community. EAZYBAKED being in the crowd before their set, connecting with people and handing out pins + cookies, created those small moments you don’t get everywhere.

It made the experience feel more personal, and you could tell the entire night was thoughtfully put together.

Thank you @eazybaked 💚
