federal blue tapes ep. 1: we’re the proofs

i had a conversation with @esegagoh8 recently about how black people are the proofs of society. its a thought ive recently been exploring through my risograph print work. that discussion inspired the mix for the first episode of the federal blue tapes.

the zine i printed to accompany the mix had me revisiting the worlds @kidcadaver dreams up.

the federal blue tapes is a continuation of my @darkmatterresidency project. stay tuned for monthly uploads and guest mixes 💙 by @nxtlvl.sh.t

Join us at The Blue Room Immersive Art Experience to see art by Udochukwu Anidobu, and dance during their DJ set. We’ll be at The Haripin Arts Center on 7/18 from 7-10PM.
RSVP Link in bio!

Udochukwu Anidobu (she/they) is an Igbo-American mixed-media collage artist, landscape architect and DJ born and based in Chicago whose work challenges our understanding of African and diasporic landscapes, traditions, and ecologies through an exploration of traditional crafts, music and their own family values. Her work is a deeply layered fantasy rooted in a nuanced understanding of landscapes, ecological and environmental systems, and their impacts on the birth and development of culture, traditions and our built environment. Her installations are often interactive wall sculptures, mesmerizing video projections, layered with immersive soundscapes. They are known for creating structured relief collages out of reclaimed materials and archival images using various art techniques including papermaking, image transference, embroidery, and various forms of printmaking. by @nxtlvl.sh.t
