I don’t typically post on instagram but this feels too significant not to post. I was the curatorial assistant on this exhibition about the musician and spiritual teacher Alice Coltrane. I joined @erinzulie on this project about a year and some change ago and it’s been an absolute dream bringing her vision to life. I just turned 24 and being so young in this field has made me feel like I don’t belong, but Erin has made sure that I feel both wanted and needed here and for that I’m forever grateful. The Coltrane family @michellecoltrane has been extremely generous in helping put this together and what an honor it’s been to work with you and @total_heat_music_account. The artists involved in this project @priestusssy @blestwun @thatboiakathatboi @vanna_juanita @jamal.cyrus @lesliehewitt @cauleen_smith @devintmays @nnicool @flyinglotus @ephraimasili @nikitagale @rashidjohnson @freddie.june @martinesyms @constellation.matters @bethanyjoycollins @adeeroberson @jcjstudio working with yall has been a dream and though I tend to be very quiet, I’m silently absorbing all of the brilliance yall exude. I hope to work with you all again and your catalogues are coming in the mail soon 🫣. Okay, this has been long enough, what a moment. Actually no I’m still going, thank you to my friends and family for hearing me complain about not feeling good enough to be here and constantly having to remind me that I am, thank you and I will likely still call until I’m like 40 thank you! by @nyah.ade
