Queensland athlete Nya Hayman and Miles Wydall have been selected to represent Australia at the 2026 IWF World Weightlifting Championships taking place in Ningbo, China, on 27th October to 8th November 2026.

Nya will be lifting in the W69 category and Miles has been selected as Team Coach.

Let’s congratulate both Nya and Miles for these appointments 👏

Huge congratulations to current Sport Australia Hall of Fame Scholarship holder Nya Hayman, who claimed bronze in the women's 69kg weightlifting at the 2026 Commonwealth Games — delivering Australia's first weightlifting medal of the entire Games, on her Commonwealth Games debut! 🏋️🇦🇺

Nya went in as an underdog and came out with a heart-stopping performance, later reflecting: "Why not me?" A powerful reminder of what belief and hard work can achieve.
