I love you so much. I’m trying to figure out a way to eloquently express my feelings but it’s so hard. Mommy, the last thing you said was “I love you” like we always said. You had cancer. But cancer didn’t have you. You LIVED. And you were proud of me. You told everyone about me. And everyone loved YOU. I promised you I’d make sure I lived life everyday after you left. That I wouldn’t just wither away and stop living. We laughed. We traveled. We made plans. And you made sure I was taken care of. I can’t imagine a life where we don’t talk everyday. Where I don’t say I love you. Where I don’t have you check my makeup. Where you don’t tell me I look beautiful. I never thought we’d have 25 years. But I thank God had we had that. You never feared death, mommy. You told me that our bodies were only shells of our spirits. That our spirits would live forever with God. I laid in your bed and I felt you hug me. I felt your kiss on my forehead. And I knew you were up there with grandma. Laughing. Talking. Glancing at me. Proud. Loving.

spent my weekends in the Bronx & Brooklyn. got six new tattoos within the last year. met some amazing people. moved to North Philly. ran 80 miles along the Schuylkill. went shopping in Cherry Hill (cause who the heck is driving to KOP). took the mega (the stallion) bus. almost reached silver status on Amtrak. spent close to $2000 in Ubers + Lyfts. [redacted]. lost my dream job. got a new job outside of my field. moved back home.

I’m so thankful for the time Philly gave me. As sad as I am to leave, I’m excited for where I’m headed next. taken in New York City, N.Y. by @nyasimoneg

I’m never going to take this moment for granted. Thank you to the @cfbplayoff for extending me the offer to work the greatest game in college football. The atmosphere was unlike any other. I had such an amazing time working with badass creatives and I can’t wait to see how far we go. Shoutout to LSU for a historic win & an even more incredible season. This southern girl is moving to Philly y’all.
