This post isn’t about basketball.

It’s about belief.

Before the training sessions.
Before the new opportunities.
Before the growth.

There were families who trusted us.

Parents who showed up.

Athletes who worked.

Volunteers who helped.

Donors who contributed.

Supporters who believed.

Every registration, every lesson, every referral, every act of support helped NYCBA take another step forward.

To our Founding Families, athletes, volunteers, and supporters:

Thank you.

We’re just getting started.

❤️ Together, We Are NYCBA.

👑🏀 ROOSEVELT ISLAND — NYCBA IS BUILDING THE NEXT GENERATION!

The game is bigger than basketball. It’s about confidence, discipline, decision-making, teamwork, and learning how to show up when it matters.

NYCBA is back serving the Roosevelt Island community with TWO ways for young athletes to get involved! 🔥

🏀 1. FREE COMMUNITY BASKETBALL
📍 P.S./I.S. 217
🗓️ Fridays | 5:30–7:30 PM
🗓️ Saturdays | 9:00–10:30 AM

A welcoming space for youth to play, connect, and enjoy basketball. Registration and a DYCD application are required for gym entry.

👑 2. NYCBA PLAYER DEVELOPMENT
Ready for more than open play? We offer separately arranged private and small-group outdoor training for families looking for more focused coaching, skill development, and accountability.

🔥 Ball handling. Footwork. Shooting. Basketball IQ. Confidence. Communication. Growth.

Whether your athlete is picking up a basketball for the first time or preparing for more competitive opportunities, let’s talk about their next step.

📲 Parents: DM @nycba or text “NYCBA” to 347-397-1026 to inquire about outdoor training, availability, and session membership options.

📍 Roosevelt Island outdoor courts — inquire for scheduling details.

FREE COMMUNITY PLAY. PURPOSEFUL PLAYER DEVELOPMENT. ONE COMMUNITY.

Together, We Are NYCBA! 👑

🏀 BROOKLYN TO ROOSEVELT ISLAND — BASKETBALL CONNECTIONS RUN DEEP! 🗽

Proud to share a special moment from the Isaiah Whitehead & Lance Stephenson Tournament in Coney Island. I’m fortunate to call Isaiah Whitehead a friend — a Brooklyn native who went on to play point guard for the Brooklyn Nets.

And seeing Lance Stephenson showing love with the NYCBA banner behind us made the moment even more special. 🙌🏾🏀

With Isaiah recently announcing his retirement from professional basketball, I want to congratulate him on an incredible journey and salute the impact he continues to have on the next generation.

From Brooklyn to Roosevelt Island, the mission stays the same: create connections, develop young players, and open doors through basketball.

NYC Basketball Association — More Than Basketball. It’s Community. 🏀💚🗽
