🚨DO NOT STOP using public benefits or City services you need without speaking with a trusted legal provider.

On Wednesday, MOIA Commissioner @faiza_n_ali joined @nice4workers at their Blueprint to Reality Gala to celebrate 26 years of supporting NYC immigrants with professional and educational programs to advance their careers. We also thank @nice4workers for your long-term partnership in connecting immigrant New Yorkers with essential legal immigration support services, including Immigrant Rights Workshops.

At MOIA, we know that building a New York City where immigrants can live with dignity, safety, and opportunity, would not be possible without dedicated partners like NICE. We look forward to working together for many more years. by @nycimmigrants

Yesterday, a federal judge dismissed the federal government’s lawsuit challenging New York City’s sanctuary city laws.

This decision is a win for our city, as these local laws are critical to ensuring that all New Yorkers, regardless of immigration status, can access essential public services without fear.

In response to this decision, @faiza_n_ali, Commissioner of the Mayor’s Office of Immigrant Affairs, released the following statement: taken in New York City, USA by @nycimmigrants

To honor the successes of community leaders working towards protections for immigrant and working-class New Yorkers, Commissioner @faiza_n_ali attended @maketheroadny’s Dignity, Community and Power Awards Gala on Thursday. Make the Road has become a second home for NYC immigrants, offering adult literacy and leadership classes, organizing Get Out the Vote efforts and supporting community-led actions. Make the Road is also an integral member of our Rapid Response Legal Collaborative which helps immigrants at imminent risk of deportation access free legal support.

Today, our team at MOIA is proud to join @nycendgbv and others across NYC 💜🗽in wearing purple to raise awareness about domestic violence and the resources and support available for survivors.

If you or someone you know is experiencing domestic violence, call NYC’s 24-hour Hope Hotline at 1-800-621-HOPE (4673) to speak with an advocate.

MOIA Commissioner @faiza_n_ali attended @NewYorkComicCon for a panel discussion alongside @doechancellor, @NYCschools’ #ProjectOpenArms and @alexsegurajr about NYC’s first-ever #KnowYourRights Comic Book!

The comic book gives students and families practical information about what to do if they encounter federal immigration enforcement, including ICE.

It doesn’t just tell people what their rights are—it helps them feel prepared, helps them know where to get help and reminds them that they don’t have to face situations alone. taken in New York City, USA by @nycimmigrants

Yesterday’s shooting makes clear what immigrant communities have known for a long time: ICE does not make our city safer.

We demand an end to ICE enforcement in NYC.
