Vegan. Somehow. @blacktap in Vegas pulled it off, and Anders has been thinking about it since. #vegan #lasvegas #milkshake #blacktap by @nycjohnw

Sophie giving me ninety seconds max before the yawn of disapproval kicks in on my work rants. Nineteen years old and still has zero patience for compliance talk. #RescueCat #SeniorCatsOfInstagram #CatsOfNYC #QueensNYC by @nycjohnw

Chef Vikas Khanna (@vikaskhannagroup ) has built something genuinely warm and welcoming here at @bungalowny The food backed up every bit of the buzz, deep, layered flavors across the board. That pineapple curry though, caramelized, glossy, poured tableside. One of the best bites I've had in this city in a while.

Service matched the food beat for beat. We'll be back.

Brunch at @unconventionaldiner in DC last week. French dip poutine with a sunny egg, hot chicken and waffles, a double cheeseburger, and a milkshake that stole the show. #unconventionaldiner #dcfood #brunch #washingtondc taken in Unconventional Diner by @nycjohnw

@oldebbitt still knows exactly what it's doing. DC's oldest saloon, and it shows in the best way. Chili with all the fixings, meatloaf that made Murad go quiet for a second, bread that didn't need the butter but got it anyway. Service was the kind that makes you want to come back even if you didn't need a reason. #OldEbbittGrill #WashingtonDC #DCEats #DCFoodie taken in Old Ebbitt Grill by @nycjohnw

This is the view from our apartment. There's plenty to love about LIC, but this one's high on the list.

@rezdoranyc knows how to make a random weeknight feel like an occasion. The doppio cappelletti in primavera stole the show, rabbit and spring peas tucked into pasta so good I stopped talking for a full minute.

Dinner at @garydankosf did exactly what it's supposed to do. Five courses, a soup poured tableside, and a chocolate soufflé that's still the best way to end a meal. San Francisco earned this one. #garydanko #sanfrancisco #tastingmenu #finedining taken in Restaurant Gary Danko by @nycjohnw
