Jets Nostalgia Spotlight 125

Eric Decker WR 87

Remember when Eric Decker came to New York in 2014? The Jets signed him as a free agent from Denver, and he quickly became one of the team’s most reliable receivers.

In his first season with the Jets, Decker caught 74 passes for 962 yards and 5 touchdowns, including an unforgettable 221-yard performance against the Dolphins in the season finale.

But 2015 was something special! Teaming up with Brandon Marshall and Ryan Fitzpatrick, Decker finished with 80 receptions, 1,027 yards, and 12 touchdowns, helping the Jets to a 10-win season.

Unfortunately, a shoulder injury cut his 2016 season short, bringing his time in New York to an early end.

For a brief stretch, Decker and Marshall were one of the most exciting receiving duos Jets fans had seen in years.

Who remembers Eric Decker in green and white?

Reminder that Brett Favre’s trade to NY was so chaotic that EA Sports had to scramble and print alternate Jets inserts right at launch.

I still have the insert they eventually printed, the full Jets version, but as a workaround they gave these inserts out instead. Kind of nutty, but they had to do it!

Look what I found! Ah, the good old Hess schedule card. As a kid, I remember before the season started and after the schedule was announced, Hess stations always had the season schedule cards. I used to always beg my dad to ask the gas attendant for one, and they always had them on hand. What a memory! Reminds me of my dad. #hess #jets #football #nfl by @nyjetsnostalgia

Jets Nostalgia Spotlight 124
Braylon Edwards WR 17

Remember when the Jets traded for Braylon Edwards in 2009? Suddenly, Mark Sanchez had another big target, and the Jets were building something special.

Acquired from Cleveland in October 2009, Edwards caught 35 passes for 541 yards and 4 touchdowns in just 12 regular-season games with New York. And who could forget his 80-yard touchdown catch against the Colts in the AFC Championship Game?

In 2010, Edwards returned with 53 receptions for 904 yards and 7 touchdowns, helping the Jets reach their second straight AFC Championship Game.

He later returned briefly in 2012, but for Jets fans, Braylon will always bring back memories of those exciting Rex Ryan playoff runs.

Who remembers Braylon Edwards in green and white?

Three years ago at @tailgatejoe party! That’s me on the left with my brother. I’ve lived in LA for nearly 20 years, but I always head back to Jersey for Thanksgiving weekend. And if the Jets are in town, I’m there! Go Jets! #jets #football #fans by @nyjetsnostalgia
