Are We There Yet?... We made it.

There were so many moments throughout this journey when I questioned whether I should keep going. Moments when I considered dropping out of the race. Moments when I doubted myself, my ideas, and whether I was capable of seeing this vision through.

The long nights. The stress. The planning. The constant thinking, creating, revising, and wondering if any of it would be enough. This experience challenged me in ways I never expected-but somewhere along the way, it also changed me.

One of the greatest lessons I’ve learned is the power of the tongue. There is power in what you speak over yourself, your circumstances, and your future. I prayed about this opportunity, spoke life into this vision even when doubt crept in, and continued moving forward. Through it all, God continued to remind me that His favor is greater than my fear.This journey also showed me how powerful your voice can be, even when you don’t think anyone is listening. Every conversation, every interaction, every post, every idea, and every genuine connection mattered. I realized that sometimes your impact reaches further than you can see.

To every person who voted for me, thank you.
To my village-the people who stayed up with
me, encouraged me, helped bring my ideas to life, reassured me when I doubted myself, and reminded me why I started-thank you. To every person that contributed to this campaign, thank you. To my friends and family, your love and support throughout this entire process meant more than I could ever fit into a caption.

To the Residence Hall Association, thank you for trusting me with this opportunity. I’m grateful not only for the title, but for the experience, the lessons, the growth, and the responsibility that comes with it.

The campaign may be over, but the journey is just beginning.

I asked “Are We There Yet?” and now I realize getting there was never just about winning—it was about who I became along the way.

A leader is somebody that is not only willing to lead a community, but is also somebody that is ready to listen to the needs of the community they serve and put ideas for solutions into action. A leader prioritizes their community, fights for the changes that still have not been implemented, and is willing to take risks for the betterment of their community — and i’m ready to take those risks. ARE WE THERE YET?
