On doing nice things for people who are kind to you: Last year I asked my gym manager, Devon, if he liked jungle because he was always playing excellent dnb when I went. We started chatting and it turns out he’s probably he biggest jungle fan I’ve ever met and was there at the beginning of it all in the 90s. Since then he’s always played my mixes in the gym and encouraged me to enter DJ contests. He even said once it would be a conspiracy if I didn’t win my first comp for @heavysonics 🤣 he’s always been kind to me and @speakerlouis, and we’ve been sending him music and taken him to events since. He’s become more than just a gym manager. He is now a dear friend of ours. I was absolutely gutted when I found out he was leaving his job at the gym, and didn’t find out early enough to get him a leaving gift. So today I went on a rather wild mission to get him a signed copy of @archives.nia new record because he’s always said he really loves what she does. I didn’t have a ticket and had to wait for almost two hours to get in and snag the last record they had at rough trade, but it was all worth it.All this to say: do nice things for people who matter and support you! ♥️ big ups our guy Devon, and thanks for supporting me always. by @nymphics

A little explanation for those who don’t know: I passed my late stage PhD review on Wednesday which essentially means I have been given the green light to submit my final thesis. The process has been the biggest test of my life (and still is far from finished) but I’ve come a long way. My defense (or viva voce as we call it in academia) will be sometime next year and be a presentation where I essentially get grilled on my work by a panel of professors from my university and from other universities to certify that I have done enough to make an original contribution to science with a sufficient body of work. And I am going to do my damn best to do it 🫡 over and out, your future Doctor ♥️ by @nymphics

So they said no filming inside Phonox but… I tore the sticker off my phone (rather unapologetically, sorry 😬) just to capture a few moments from what I hope will go down in history as one of the greatest drum and bass events ever. Several people DM’d me asking for these videos so I figured I would post them so we can all have some collective memory of what we experienced. I don’t really have a lot to say other than the entire event was magical from start to finish. To see people coming together, arm in arm, holding hands all for an absolute legend of the scene who for many of us defined so much of our musical landscape for so long was nothing short of incredible. Emotional doesn’t even begin to describe it… Might delete later. I still have goosebumps from Saturday. Thank you to everyone who made it extra special and thank you Lenzman for all you’ve contributed to our scene. Your music will live forever. ♥️ by @nymphics
