This wasn’t the video I was expecting to make today but it’s the necessary one.

Alcohol was my life. I couldn’t go a day without it for the last few years. Wherever alcohol was, so was I & if I was going somewhere that didn’t have alcohol I’d drink before going or stop at the liquor store immediately after.

I could drink 2-3 bottles in one sitting, wake up hangover and drink again. This became my lifestyle and a very bad habit. Anytime I was hurt, happy, excited, drained, overwhelmed, joyful or anything, I drank.

My addiction got so bad to the point where it effected/ruined relationships, caused me to miss events or leave early just to drink and had me in the hospital for dehydration on one occasion & falling down some stairs another. Leaving me with a bloody head, scraped knees & unable to walk for a week.

I shouldn’t be alive right now. But God is faithful.

I prayed so many times for God to take the taste out of my mouth like He did with other things in my life, but this time He didn’t. He made it clear that this was something I needed to sacrifice.

So this is the Nyah I left at the altar today. This is who I sacrificed. Because I have work to do. And not only that, but because I love God and it was time to show it with my actions by giving up one of my favorite things & biggest idol: alcohol.

So hi, my name is Nyah and I was wanted for Alcohol Abuse, but God shifted it. by @nynyalex
