🎧 From the recording studio to outer space, NYU Abu Dhabi students are taking music beyond boundaries.

Meet Gazelien Records: a student-led music production and research incubator where creativity, collaboration, and curiosity come together.

Led by Associate Professor of Practice of Music Technology Matteo Marciano, the program gives students the opportunity to transform ideas into real productions, develop their craft in a professional studio environment, and build the skills to pursue careers in music.

What started as a clear path in medicine evolved into something far broader. Through exploration, mentorship, and hands-on research in the NYUAD marine microbiomics lab, Amiteash Paul #Classof2025 found a way to bridge human health and environmental science — contributing to research that matters beyond the lab.

When Farzan Ahmad Khan first arrived at NYU Abu Dhabi in 2014, it was the first time he had ever left Pakistan

Twelve years later, he is heading to the University of Oxford 🎓 as an Oxford–Pershing Square Graduate Scholar. One of only five recipients globally each year and the first NYUAD alumnus to receive this scholarship

Farzan spent a full decade at NYUAD, four years as a student and six years as staff. During this time, he did not just study electrical engineering; he actively helped shape campus life:

- Coached and reimagined the men’s cricket program 🏏
- Launched a women’s cricket team
- Chaired the NYUAD Staff Council 🗣️
- Worked in global education and student life, contributing to student experiences across campus.

Now, he will pursue an MSc in Education and an MBA at Oxford through the Pershing Square Scholarship 📚✨, focusing on higher education systems and social impact

At the heart of his journey is a simple belief: education has the power to transform lives

في خطوة تعكس التزامها بتعزيز البحث العلمي الوطني، وقّعت وكالة الإمارات للفضاء وجامعة نيويورك أبوظبي، اتفاقية رعاية، لدعم الأعمال البحثية الخاصة بالمشروع البحثي «دراسات الغلاف الجوي للمريخ وسطحه باستخدام بيانات مهمة الإمارات لاستكشاف المريخ»، وذلك ضمن مستهدفات تمديد مهمة "مسبار الأمل" التي تم الإعلان عنها في فبراير الماضي. وتهدف الاتفاقية إلى توسيع نطاق الاستفادة من البيانات العلمية للمهمة لدعم الأبحاث المتخصصة حول المريخ، والمساهمة في بناء قاعدة علمية وبحثية مستدامة في دولة الإمارات، بما يعزز مكانتها في مجال علوم الفضاء والكواكب.

The UAE Space Agency and New York University Abu Dhabi signed a sponsorship agreement to support the research project “Studies of the Martian Atmosphere and Surface with the Emirates Mars Mission,” in support of the objectives of the extended Emirates Mars Mission (Hope Probe) announced earlier this year. The agreement will enable greater use of the mission’s scientific data while contributing to the development of national research expertise and enhancing the UAE’s role in advancing planetary science. by @nyuabudhabi
