The immersive course Intensive Intermediate Spanish from #Summer2026 learnt how to work clay to make different figures with Amalia Vargas.

Amalia was born in San Salvador de Jujuy and is Kolla-Quechua; she's a researcher on Quechua, Aymara and Mapuche cultures, and a Professor of Fine Arts and Traditional Cultures. She is also Head Professor of the Indigenous Peoples, Art, Health and Education Seminar at Universidad Nacional de las Artes.

We also learnt about the different pottery works from a number of indigenous communities across Latin America and especially from Argentina.
