I never expected 2:00 AM city running to become my new favorite thing, but running through those empty streets with a bunch of like-minded people changed the game.

The community and the collective energy out there were incredible, and I’m already hyped and getting ready for the next one.

Joined the Big Back Run Club from Astoria to Brooklyn and back, featuring a mandatory pit stop at Cafe Panna. Even a sudden downpour on the return leg couldn’t ruin the vibe.

2 AM in NYC. Empty streets and a race with no rules.

I was supposed to just shoot photos for the legendary Orchard Street Runners (OSR) midnight race. Instead, I got talked into running it.

To say I was intimidated is an understatement. Midnight start, no official route, just a list of checkpoints, and a pack of the fastest runners in the city. But sprinting through the concrete jungle in the dead of night turned out to be one of the best running experiences of my life.

10/10 would choose the starting line over the sidelines again.

2 miles of pure energy! NYC, you outdid yourself at the Pulse Run in Brooklyn. Huge shoutout to @withforte.co for organizing, @djswaggyp for keeping the vibes immaculate, and @drinkprox for fueling us.

We literally turned every single stop into a dance floor! Ending the night with free energy drinks was the perfect cherry on top. 10/10, would absolutely do it again!

You couldn’t ask for a better day outside to celebrate 80 years of Philippine Independence for New York’s 6th annual Kalayaan Run! ☀️🇵🇭

The energy today was unmatched! So grateful to everyone who showed up and joined the run. From starting at the Philippine Consulate at 556 5th Ave to finishing near the amazing parade and fair at 25th Madison Ave, every mile felt special.

Getting to connect with friends and colleagues along the way made a great day even better. Thank you to the organizers for keeping this incredible tradition going strong and making today such a success!

Two months ago, I started my Hyrox journey to build the hybrid strength needed for those long running miles, but a wrist injury just two weeks ago almost crushed my plans. Walking into my first-ever solo race, the anxiety was real. I was completely by myself and didn’t know a single soul. But the energy of this community changed everything: I instantly connected with the people in my heat, and a friend completely surprised me by showing up to capture the day.

The heat was brutal, and by the final station, my legs were shot and I was right on the edge of giving up. Then the crowd took over, and hearing everyone cheer me on gave me the exact push I needed to fight through the wall and finish. I would absolutely do this again; there is nothing quite like an environment where strangers instantly become friends and elevate each other!

Just picked up my bib for the Brooklyn Half at the LeFrak Center and the process was incredibly smooth! If you’re heading down today, it’s a quick and easy in-and-out so you can stay off your feet.

Make sure to swing by the RBC Hypezone booth for the free giveaways and the photobooth. They also have all the race day essentials covered last-minute gels, salt tabs, and carbs are fully stocked.

Stop by the NYRR area and try the quizbee! It’s a fun way to snag some free shoe laces before you head out.

There is no better way to see the city than a “Three Bridge Loop” morning. Taking it easy over the Ed Koch Queensboro, Brooklyn, and Manhattan bridges to soak in the skyline views and the steady miles.
