A huge congratulations to Josh Peacocke of @mojocoffeenz , who represented Aotearoa at the 2026 World Barista Championship in Panama City last month. Josh stepped up with only about a month to prepare and took the stage alongside around 50 of the world’s best baristas, finishing 32nd overall with a score of 458.5. Josh, you did us proud, and we loved seeing that smile light up the stage in Panama. A big thank you to Mojo Coffee for backing @peacockejosh , to everyone who cheered him on through their screens, and to our sponsors for supporting the competition pathway that gets our baristas to the world stage. ☕ Come and taste the coffees Josh and Megan picked up in Panama! 📍 Mojo Quay Street 🗓️ Thursday 5 November, 4:30 pm Head to Megan's @xmgnmrphy page for ticket information #NZSCA #WBC2026 #WorldBaristaChampionship #TeamAotearoa #NZCoffee #SpecialtyCoffee by @nzspecialtycoffee
Samaria Coffee New Zealand is a family-run green coffee company bringing fresh, traceable Colombian coffee directly from our farm in Belén de Umbría, Colombia, as well as a curated selection of coffees from producers we work closely with at origin. With over 90 years of history, we focus on transparency, quality, and long-term relationships with roasters. What we’re excited about: We’ve just landed our first shipment in New Zealand and are starting to work closely with local roasters, building long-term relationships and introducing a curated selection of Colombian coffees across different processes, including washed, natural and honey, and varieties such as Pink Bourbon, Geisha, Tabi and Caturra. by @nzspecialtycoffee
Why do you volunteer?” Bonnie asked; Ai Gondo and Lisa Martynova answered 💛 These two were part of the team that kept the Aotearoa Latte Art Championships running smoothly this year. Hear what keeps them coming back, and why they reckon you should join them next time! Volunteering is a great way to meet people, learn about specialty coffee and be part of something special. by @nzspecialtycoffee

The Aotearoa Barista & Latte Art Championships were back in Auckland, and with it came major thrills, a lot of passion, and some serious skills on display from all the competitors. We’re proud to support our community’s passion, and loved to see new faces cheering among the crowd or taking the leap on stage.
