Okay, a little back story:
I graduated from secondary school as the best in my class in 2018. I applied to study Pharmacy at UNILAG, but my course was changed to Medical Laboratory Science.

I really wanted Pharmacy, so I decided not to take the admission and wrote JAMB again in 2019. This time, I chose UNILORIN.

And whew, what a journey these past years have been. There were so many times when I felt discouraged and questioned my decision.

“Maybe I should have just gone for MLS.”
“All my mates and even my juniors are done with school now.”
“Why is this taking so long?”

I’ve typed “Congratulations!” under so many of my mates’ and juniors’ graduation posts that I’ve honestly lost count. 😂

But guess what?
It’s my turn now.
Last to graduate is not a fool after all. 😂

But beyond just getting through Pharmacy school, I’m also really proud of everything else I was able to do along the way. I’ve led teams, volunteered in different communities, worked on tech and community projects, and somehow managed to balance all of that with Pharmacy school.

It definitely wasn’t always easy, but looking back now, I’m glad I didn’t put the rest of me on hold just because of pharmacy school.

Most importantly, I’m so, so grateful to God for carrying me through all of it. Through the good days, the hard days, the doubts, the delays, and everything in between. I genuinely would not be here without Him.

I haven't seen my friend in a whole year because of pharmacy school so we went to get milk tea and pizza last Saturday.

There’s something really special about being in a room full of women who care deeply about community. 💗

I had such an amazing time at #SCAVolunteersSummit2026 last month. I learnt so much throughout the summit — from understanding what it means to move beyond volunteering and become an architect of change, to program design and impact tracking, compliance and documentation, storytelling, fundraising, sponsorships, and partnerships.

The practical lab on speed event planning was also such a fun way to put some of what we learnt into practice.

One of my favourite moments was seeing SCA Unilorin, the community I also lead, receive the Community Collaboration Award. Seeing our community recognised in that room was such a beautiful and proud moment for me. 🥹💗

A big thank you to @kolokodess and the entire @shecodeafrica team for putting this together.

And of course, a huge thank you to the community team and our amazing supermoms, @the_ladybella, Oluwaseun, and Evangeline, for taking such good care of us throughout the summit. 🫶🏽 by @o.mo.tomike
