Had the honor of adding my touch to some block island history this winter. Historical society had me replace all the deck boards and rotted joist on their front porch. Had some superb help from @jack_connell2, and @rosemary_connelli really made it pop with her fine paintwork. Also found an old note from John Littlefield who you see in the last photo. He rebuilt the deck a while back and gave a lot of his time to keep the building standing. by @o_mott

New skill unlock: Tando shakes composite siding.Gave this shed a full makeover-new roof, new trim, new entry door, and new siding. This was my first time working with these plastic siding sheets. I wasn’t a huge fan as they definitely aren’t as strong as traditional cedar shingles, however for a shed like this wasn’t a bad solution. Cons: -They require a little more prep then traditional siding- The biggest downfall I found is notching them over windows and doors as the bottoms don’t have anything to clip on to. - lots of plastic dust from cutsPros -they go on much faster than traditional shingles-lots of color options-no painting required We’ll see how long they last out here by @o_mott
