Heavy on the vision for myself. ✨

Because I've spent years helping other people see their potential, navigate transitions, and recognize the value they bring to the table.

And somewhere along the way, I realized I owe myself that same level of intention.

Not just in my career, but in the life I'm building.

The experiences I want to have. The rooms I want to enter. The opportunities I want to create. The memories I want to make. And the legacy I want to leave.

That's also why I created OWn Your Story. To help people uncover the value in their experiences, communicate what makes them different, and position themselves for opportunities that align with the lives they actually want to build.

I've learned that you can be grateful for everything you've accomplished and still want more for yourself.

More freedom. More fulfillment. More alignment between who you are and how you live.

So yes, I'm heavy on the vision for myself. Because I'm not just building a career. I'm building a life that reflects everything I've worked for and everything I'm becoming.

And if you're in a season of figuring out what's next, remember: You're allowed to want more, even when what you have is already good.

Follow along for career positioning, personal branding, storytelling, and the real-life experiences that shape how we grow.

What's one thing you're being more intentional about creating for yourself?

I came to CultureCon to host a conversation about owning your story. I left with even more clarity about mine.

10 people joined me for my BrainDate, Own Your Story: Turn Your Experience Into the Missing Ingredient For Any Opportunity.

And for 45 minutes, we talked less about titles and more about the experiences behind them.

The places we came from.
The things that shaped us.
The parts of our stories we had overlooked.
The value other people could sometimes see before we could see it ourselves.

By the end, I was connecting the dots in real time:

From Personable to Personification.
From Baltimore to Bolivia.
From Ghana to Generational Health.
From YouTube to You.

And somewhere in the middle of helping everyone else find their thread, mine became even clearer.

From the little girl who called herself a BQE chick because she needed a way to bridge Brooklyn and Queens...

To nearly two decades spent connecting people to opportunities...

To building Own Your Story and helping people recognize the value hiding in plain sight.

Story has always been the bridge.

That’s my Core Ingredient at work.

And what happened around that table reminded me why this work belongs in more rooms.

For the person trying to articulate what makes them different.
For the company trying to recognize the talent already in front of them.
For the organization trying to create deeper connection among its people.

Everybody’s looking for the secret sauce. But people are the Core Ingredient.

@culturecon thank you for the room. 💙

And to the 10 people who trusted the table with your stories, thank you for reminding me that sometimes we need other people to help us see what we’ve been carrying all along.

What part of your story might you be overlooking?

Brooklyn, I’m bringing OWn Your Story to @culturecon 🤎

This Sunday, I’ll be joining the CultureCon community as a BrainDate Community Leader for:

OWn Your Story: Turn Your Experience Into the Missing Ingredient for Any Opportunity.

I’ll be sharing something I’ve learned after years of career conversations and helping people position their professional stories:

You probably have more value in your story than you know how to articulate.

The experience, skills, and perspective are all there.

What’s often missing is knowing how to recognize it, position it, and carry it into your next chapter.

That’s the conversation I’m bringing to CultureCon.

And getting to have it right here in Brooklyn, the place that shaped so much of my own story, makes this one especially meaningful. 🥹

So if you’ll be at CultureCon this weekend, come find me so I can spread love the Brooklyn way. I want to hear what you’re building, where you’re headed, and what you’re bringing into your next room.

And if you’re crossing that bridge into Brooklyn this weekend, you already know... better have a pass when you cross that bridge. 😉

What part of your story have you been overlooking as an asset?

Your next chapter doesn’t always require a brand-new network.

Sometimes it’s about reconnecting the dots between your experience, your relationships, and where you’re headed next.

Who’s already in your network that you should reconnect with? 👋🏾 taken in New York, New York by @o_nedia

Y’all alright?

The nor’easter basically told all of us to gon 'head and sat down somewhere.

That rain against that window pane may have had our good sis Mary trippin', but instead of letting it drive you insane, maybe this is your opportunity to get quiet enough to hear yourself think.

Sometimes the best use of a pause is resting. Sometimes it’s resetting. Sometimes it’s planning. And sometimes it’s letting God show you what you couldn’t see while you were busy moving.

A lot of what I'll begin sharing here more is about putting yourself in position for what’s next. In your career, your business, your life, or even your next trip.

But positioning doesn’t always look like sending the email, making the announcement, or taking immediate action. Sometimes it starts with slowing down, looking at everything you’ve already lived and learned, and recognizing how it has been preparing you for your next move.

So if you’re safe inside this weekend, listen to the rain. Give yourself permission to pause. The clarity you’ve been asking for might finally have room to find you.

Now tell me. Is this weekend for resting, resetting, planning, or listening?

There’s something powerful about being in a room full of Black women who are honest about what it takes to begin again. 💛

At the Power Your Pivot brunch at Home Sweet Harlem, I had the joy of joining a panel of women whose paths looked different, but whose stories shared a thread: a pivot doesn’t have to erase who you’ve been. Sometimes it helps you see what you’ve been carrying all along.

I shared a piece of my own journey, listened to women speak about courage, authenticity, and choosing themselves, and left grateful for the friends and family who showed up to support me.

Thank you, @joiful_recruiter and @carlypreneur , for inviting me to be part of this conversation. And thank you to everyone in the room who brought their full selves to it.

What’s one pivot that taught you something about your own strength? ✨

Lately, I've been thinking about the difference between getting away and coming home to yourself.

What started as a cousin's camping trip eventually became a weekend of vineyards, sisterhood, and stories. But somewhere between the campfires, the winding trails, the small towns, and the slow mornings, I realized the destination was never the point.

The gift was the time.

Time to wander without an agenda.
Time to laugh until something became an inside joke.
Time to remember that some of life's greatest luxuries aren't things—they're people.

My cousin and I kept saying we are one of a kind, but aligned.

She finds peace by the fire.
I find mine by the water.

Different in so many ways, yet somehow always walking in the same direction.

I'm learning that this is what legacy looks like—not just what we leave behind, but the relationships we continue to nurture while we're here.

Here's to choosing the trip.
Choosing the people.
Choosing the story.

I turned 40 on 4/24/24! And I didn't play the number 🙄.

More importantly...The love was felt. The vibes were immaculate. And I'm forever grateful for the members of my village who were able to show up and show out for me. We even had a crowning ceremony where the torch was passed. If by torch you mean a tiara and a bottle of Rosé. My kinda party!

Going to make this next decade my best one yet! 🙏🏾🙌🏾 taken in San Juan, Puerto Rico by @o_nedia
