Purgatory 100 | 2026 | The best race in Manitoba, organized by @countrycycle

None of this would have been possible without Shona’s help and her generosity in lending me a bike for the race.

The day before the race, I got everything ready, went to bed early, and then couldn’t fall asleep. I kept waking up during the night, convinced that I had overslept and missed the race.

Spring chicken 2026

First race of the season
5th/12th place

I was shivering before the race started and was underdressed (6° in April). At some point, I just wanted to quit. Every attack felt like it was gonna end me.

Probably the most fun part was when Tyler, Audrey and Russel were attacking and all of us were trying to catch up with them.

I wish I had done a bike fit at the beginning of the season! I still need a few more adjustments for optimal comfort, but I’m already feeling a big improvement—huge thanks to Dustin.

Compared to my previous two bike fits, this one was by far the most structured, detailed, and personalized. Dustin provided thorough explanations and plenty of helpful advice throughout the process.
