@jackfromtown scoring waves off O'ahu's south shore as the south-southwest swells come in! Summer is always bringing the south shore to life, while winter shifts the energy back up north. Year-round surf season at its best!

Waikiki means something different depending on who's standing on it. To locals, it's the surf playground boxed in by high-end shops and restaurants most of us visited only on special occasions. To visitors, it's the whole dream in one two-mile stretch — beach, shopping, restaurants, all of it. Different lens, same conclusion: everybody calls it paradise, just their own version of it.

The North Shore of Oahu is known in the surf world as the Seven Mile Miracle. home to Banzai Pipeline and some of the most legendary surf on the planet. Shrimp trucks lining the highway, one-lane bridges, no stoplights for miles. This is where big-wave surfing was born, and it's still the closest thing the sport has to a proving ground.

With summer just right around the corner, get ready for one of Hawai’i’s biggest investments in local businesses, the Made in Hawai’i Festival!

The Made in Hawai’i festival is one of the biggest ways we support Hawai’i’s local businesses, families, food makers, and entrepreneurs. Back in 2024, the festival generated nearly $10 million in sales and brought in about 70,000 attendees. These record-breaking numbers were repeated in 2025; which means more money staying within our local economy instead of leaving the islands.

This year, happening from August 20-23, more than 700 local vendors are projected to be there. Every ticket purchased, every meal bought, and every locally made product supported creates real economic impact for the people within our community. Together we can push these numbers higher, and make it the most impactful year yet! by @oahu

He got a memory he'll never forget! 😱🐋

You can spend hours on a boat and it'd all be worth it when you catch that once-in-a-lifetime sighting of this monstrous treasure of the ocean!

Massive, highly respective, and most of all, elusive-- North Pacific Humpback Whale, known as "Koholā" in Hawaiian culture, serves as protectors, and manifestations of the ocean god Kanaloa. 🌴

Conch shells produce low-vibrational hums similar to those of whales. Across Polynesia they've been used to call, signal, and honor traditions. 🤙

im so scared of turtles bc of gumball 😅

Known locally In Hawaiian culture as "Honu", these aquatic animals are seen as ancestral guardian spirits that represent longevity and the link between the land and the sea.

While most turtles only come ashore to lay eggs, our local Honu do it just to soak up the sun and regulate their body temperature. ☀️

If you're lucky enough to find yourself seeing this in person, remember: No touching, no feeding, and definitely no "shell selfies!" Hawaiian Green Sea Turtles are federally and state protected by law requiring you maintain a distance of at least 10 feet. 🚷

HES SO CUTE AND CHONKY 😭🦭

While they look like they’re struggling, Hawaiian Monk Seals (also known locally as "Dog that run in rough water") are actually masters of conserving energy. 🏃

You see, when their flippers aren't catching enough grip their chin and chest allows them to push the soft sand to move their massive weight forward!

Fun fact: The act of them adorably crawling through the sand like an inch worm is called "galumphing!" 🤭

If you were going to spend the whole day face-down in the sand like this braddah, which beach would you doze off at? 🧐

The views from this room were EVERYTHING 🥹

Having a front-row seat watching the long-boarders coast on the most famous shoreline in the world, Waikiki Beach is a treat for the soul. 🌺

When you're not on the ground walking among the thousands of people on the sand, passing by high-end businesses, small moments like these let you relax in the essence of the island.

Which hotel or restaurant actually has the best unobstructed view of Lēʻahi? (I'd say DECK., any others?) 🏨👀
