Hello my loves ✨

Guess what — Nine days ago our beautiful baby arrived, born safely at home in the water, surrounded by candlelight, her daddy, her big sister and our incredible midwives. Safe to say we’ve been deeply nestled in our baby bubble ever since 🫧

I’m very briefly popping in here to let you know I’m taking the rest of June to soak up this time together, rest deeply, and gently attune ourselves to this new family dynamic.

As you know, early postpartum has been intentionally and deeply prioritised for me, and I want to honour this protected time by stepping away from social media, being fully present, and focusing on what matters most right now — our baby, our family, and this sacred season of transition.

Thank you to everyone who helped me close the store over the past week, and thank you for the incredible support, love, and encouragement you’ve shown throughout my pregnancy and now into postpartum. It has meant more than I can express.

I’m looking forward to sharing more when the time is right — about our beautiful baby, our incredibly healing and deeply transformative home birth, and some exciting new plans for the shop space.

For now, I’m retreating from this online space and embracing the new rhythms of family life. I can’t wait to connect with you all again when I return. You can text me if you need me! I won’t be on socials. Happy first week of winter, see you in early July 🌙

Lots and lots of love 🧡🥰🌞✨

My loves: Change is in the air 🧡

After many months of reflection, and watching my belly grow, I’ve made the decision to step back from Oak and Haven and pass this beautiful space into new hands as I prepare to welcome our baby and become a mother of two in a few short weeks. I’m so excited to introduce them to you soon, and know you’re in good hands.

While the physical shop space is changing, this isn’t goodbye to Oak and Haven. The online store, future ceramic collections, art, Blood to Bone magazine and the heart behind it all will continue with me into this next season when I emerge from the baby bubble later in the year 🫧

My final day in store will be this Friday May 15th, and I’ll be there until 7pm with pizzas and hot chippies if you’d like to pop in for a cuddle, chat, or one last browse, I’d love to see you!

Thank you for supporting this dream and helping create something so special. I’m endlessly grateful for you 🙏🏼

With so much love,
Yana xx

P.S. my apologies for posting this on Mother’s Day — there’s no great time to break the news, but I wanted to give you as much time as I could to let you know about this shift and change, and this was the first moment I’ve had after some huge and incredibly busy weeks 🧡🧡🧡 Thank you for understanding xx by @oakandhaven

Hello, hello 🌝

3 month postpartum me thought, and really, truly believed I’d be able to make stuff and sell beautiful ceramics on my online store for Christmas this year.

5 month postpartum me has decided that was actually insane and very poor judgement 😂 🙅🏼‍♀️ I shall not be doing that.

So I’m posting this here and now to say
1. I’m staying in baby land for the foreseeable future
2. I love ya
3. I’ll let you know when I’m making again and when I’m ready to sell those items to you haha

Thank you for your beautiful messages and well wishes since Maggie entered the world. I’m really only online once a week before I get overwhelmed and hop off again 😶‍🌫️

Energetically, it’s a lot isn’t it?

Real life is beautiful and I’m enjoying it so much 💛 motherhood 2.0 is shaping up to be a redemptive, restorative season for me and I couldn’t be more grateful and proud of myself for this gift of time and presence. I’m sending you a big squeezy hug through the screen xx chat soon! 🌞 by @oakandhaven

Checking in — I’m still here still deep in the baby bubble with my two girls, and loving being slow and quiet right now. I’m tending to my little world for a bit until I’m ready to emerge from my shell 🐚

When I do have something to share, I’ll be sharing it over email first (not so much here, I’m making snail mail a priority over socials). So if you want to be first to know when I’m back with new pieces, writing, or whatever comes next — my email list is the place to be. Link in bio 💌

No rush on my end, I’ll emerge when I emerge. Thank you for being here in the meantime xx sending lots of winter sunshine and love to you xx 🌞 by @oakandhaven

A love note from me to you from my baby bubble 🫧

Looking forward to sharing more with you soon when the time is right ✨ In the meantime, I’ll hopefully see you at the @_common.culture launch on the 18th to celebrate this golden new chapter for Chloe and Kirsten! xx Yana by @oakandhaven

A very special evening spent at @_common.culture last night celebrating a very big Chapter 1 for both myself, and Chloe and Kirsten 🧡

I’m stoked to have been able to hand the keys to our beautiful space to Chloe and Kirsten, the new visionaries for the space that has held so much for us all over the last 2.5 years 🔑

So much love and colour has been put into the new home of @_common.culture — something that has been planned for months in the making, finally coming to fruition 🍊 Such an exciting time for everyone involved! I have no doubt it will continue to be a community hub for us, and I’m looking forward to continue being on the other side of the counter, enjoying the space as a customer as I focus on building my ceramics studio at home and being a mama of two gals.

Our first proper outing as a family was a success, and we are stoked to have been there for your special moment!! @chloe__lashay and @kirstos.amegos 💍💥

A full circle moment — finally enjoying sitting on the armchairs I have encouraged so many mamas to relax and feed their babies on 🤱🏼 I got to feed Maggie, eat some cake and take it all in 🥹 Often what we build is what we need, and what a beautiful moment to reflect on how much has been built here.

Community and strong connection between so many beautiful people.

@bloodtobonemagazine on the shelves, my baby in my arms, friends in the room, and a fresh start. Here’s to new beginnings, wherever they may find you 🥂✨ xx by @oakandhaven

Today I got to snap my newest pieces in the sunshine ready to release to the world! 📸 🌞✨

I’ve named this collection ‘Dune’ — when I saw them come out of the kiln I was taken aback by the way rich golden tones of the clay and the milky white glaze have danced together to create these patterns and reflect all the marks of human hands that have made them.

Dune is inspired by golden sand — always shifting, always changing, shaped slowly over time.

Made from a rich, golden stoneware clay and finished with a warm oatmeal glaze, each piece feels earthy, sun-worn and grounding.

This collection is an invitation to slow down and come back to yourself through everyday ritual pieces — burning incense, sipping tea, lighting a candle, or sharing a nourishing meal.

Simple moments that help us feel held in the now.

Handmade by me in Upwey, VIC, using stoneware clay. Each piece made completely by me, and fired locally.

Each piece is made slowly, and intended for daily use. Each piece will have its own unique variation, as is the charm of being completely made by hand.

Welcoming Dune to the website and the shop space ✨ all available now 🌞 xx Yana by @oakandhaven

$I decided that once the store was closed last year I’d be completely off socials for the same time we were closed — it ended up being 3 weeks without checking my phone or responding to messages 100 times a day. I’m absolutely not meaning to sound ungrateful, I even surprised myself with how MIA I went. I thought I’d have the energy and space to catch up with more friends than I did but I just couldn’t in the end. All I wanted to do was be in our home, lay in the sun, read my book and be in my body. I spent so much of the last part of the year in my thinking brain, that I needed time to come back down into my body and ‘be’ instead of ‘do’. Do you know what I mean? Once I let myself just exist and land back in my body, I felt like I was defrosting 🌞 I could feel creative urges and ideas begin to simmer and bubble up again, and let myself be guided by what felt the yummiest to do on the day. By the end of the 3 weeks, I finished a book and a half, 2 paintings, 21 stone song necklaces, and a whole slab of 12kg of clay into pieces for the shop space. I spent time watching tv series with Alby, plenty of swimming, and I got to exist in a relaxed and more calibrated body. Even laying in the sunshine was peaceful, and I didn’t have that feeling like I needed to be anywhere else. The first few days I had FOMO and felt the tug to know what everyone else was up to, but after a while that disappeared and I stopped caring so much about everyone else and started to really just be completely where I was. I found I could sit and paint with Daisy for hours without wanting to be pulled in any other direction. I’m writing this experience down because I know there’ll be a time soon enough when I’ll once again feel overwhelmed or overstimulated or like life has 15 rapidly flowing streams of consciousness all at once — and I can remind myself that online can wait and real life is the main course. It’s here that I am completely myself. That there is time to do what I desire. That time will stretch and evolve into pockets of bliss when I stay there in ‘being’, instead of fracturing my focus with screens. That even 10-30mins is enough to bring me back home to myself 🧡 by @oakandhaven$

A few quick snaps from tonight before mamas who mingle! 🪩🌞✨🧡🌙

Thank you so much to everyone who came along this evening — such a beautiful mix of new and familiar faces 🧡 it’s always a joy connecting with you all and widening our web of beautiful women in the community xx enjoy your weekend loves! by @oakandhaven
