Join Reboot, Reboot Studios, the Bender JCC of Greater Washington, and Charles E. Smith Jewish Day School (CESJDS) on October 27, 6:30-8 p.m., for a special evening of film, conversation and community, exploring the many ways Jewish identity is lived and expressed.

As part of Reboot’s national touring program, This Is “What Jewish Looks Like,” we will screen three Reboot Studios short films: The Anne Frank Gift Shop, We Should Eat with the film Miriam.

We’ll also share a special look at Whatever It Takes, a film in development inspired by the remarkable story of the 2017 CESJDS championship cross-country team.

🎹 L’chaim to a legend! If Irving Fields were alive today, he'd be celebrating his 111th birthday! Born August 4, 1915 in NYC, Fields (né Yitzhak Schwartz) was a lounge piano icon whose melodies spanned continents and cultures. 🌎

Best known for hits like “Miami Beach Rhumba,” “Managua, Nicaragua,” and “Chantez, Chantez” (covered by Dinah Shore), Fields brought flair to cocktail bars and cruise ships alike. His breakthrough album Bagels and Bongos sold over 2 million copies — a joyous mashup of Jewish melodies and Cuban rhythms 🥯+🥁=❤️.

He played well into his 90s, and passed away in 2016 at age 101 — the last of the great cocktail pianists. His music lives on in the Great American Songbook.

Raise a glass (and maybe a rhumba) to Irving Fields on what would’ve been his 111th! 🍷💃

Today, we’re celebrating a major milestone: 10 years of David Katznelson as CEO of Reboot! 🎉

David’s connection to Reboot stretches back nearly to the beginning. He attended the first Reboot Summit in 2002, served several years on the Reboot Board and became Board Chair in 2012. He served in that role until stepping into the position of CEO in June 2016.

A Grammy-nominated music producer, writer and longtime champion of artists and creators, David has brought a singular combination of vision, creativity and deep curiosity to every chapter of his work with Reboot. 🎶

Under his leadership, Reboot has grown as a home for bold ideas, contemporary Jewish storytelling and innovative approaches to Jewish life and culture, including the launch of Reboot Studios, its production arm for award-winning film, theater and multimedia projects. 🎬
