Presenting my first bio plastic fashion collection at @oaklandstyle2026! See details 👇🏼

I literally cooked up all the materials you see down the runway, made from proteins, seaweed and natural dyes. All of the pieces can be safely (and nutritiously) composted back into the earth 🌎

Look 1: Is a gelatin-based bio plastic corset and skirt dyed with coffee ☕️. Modeled by the beautiful @pernella_rose 🌹

Look 2: Is a trench coat made of a seaweed-based bio plastic by the company @swaythefuture. Modeled by the incredible @lucadc23 🙌🏼

Look 3: Is a corset and asymmetric skirt made from a gelatin-based bio plastic and dyed with turmeric (front of skirt) and prickly pear cactus fruit (back of skirt and top) . Modeled by the amazing @amarareighley ✨

Meet the four designers hitting the runway:

A celebration of creativity, community and collaboration.

For our final home match of 2025, we transformed our pitch into a runway—hosting the first-ever fashion show at the Oakland Coliseum in front of more than 10,000 fans. Thirty original looks came to life through thrifted pieces from @thredup, footwear from @charlyusa_ and upcycled jerseys from Roots and @oaklandsoulsc. Fashion design students from @othsconnections, @osaschool, and @cacollegeofarts showcased their work and reimagined what conscious fashion can be.

Paired with industry mentors @asaadbruno, @emilysuepayne, and @skohabibi, this project stood as a testament to what happens when design and purpose intersect.

Special thanks to @poweredwithava and @oaklandstylelab for powering and supporting the vision that brought this show to life.

Art of Sneakers Vol. 3 🎨👟
For Oakland Style Week, we activated a vacant, ex-shoe store and filled it with a pop up art exhibition highlighting sneaker designers, customizers and all around sneaker artists from the Bay Area 🌉 and beyond 🌍. The exhibition only lasted the weekend but we are building a community of sneakerheads and artists and bringing this artform into the spotlight where it belongs. Stay on the lookout for more events coming from our leader @solespacelab the incredible creative mind that has elevated sneaker culture in Oakland with a focus on Upcycling, Recreation and Sustainability.

Also big shoutout to @bruceleefoundation for the generous loans of these rare Bruce Lee Kicks and Raffle Items. The show wouldn’t have been the same without that touch from one of the greatest of all time!

And the @valkyries for their collaboration on the SneakHER design workshop which was featured as well!

Future Threads is a 1-week camp where youth explore at the intersection of fashion & science! Botanical dyeing, bio material trinkets, and more textile innovations 🧪

Reimagine Fashion is a 2-week camp where youth sew a complete head-to-toe look using all upcycled materials. Youth explore the fashion industry’s impacts on our bodies, our communities, and the Earth and take home creative making skills that will keep their clothing out of landfills! Plus a super fun runway show where they model their unique fits! 🪡
