Here's a friendly reminder of the remaining two programs Customer Services has planned to be presented by LaVon Lenaway MA, CTVDT, DCS, DCSCT of Dragonfly Senior Navigation Services and sponsored by Arden Courts of Palos Heights this fall.

(R) Registration is required, go to: www.olpl.org/calendar

Call Customer Services at 708-422-4990 ext. 100 with questions.

The Toll Caregiving Takes: An Honest Look Inside the Shoes of a Family Caregiver (R) Monday, Oct. 19; 2 p.m.; Encore Room
I hear you! “I wish people would stop asking me how I am doing and what I am doing to take care of myself! I don’t have time to take care of myself!” We promise, we won’t ask those questions or boss you around. This presentation takes the
time to stand in the shoes of a family caregiver and invites you to stop for a moment, look up, and not only look for something beautiful (like a dragonfly or some wildflowers), but also think of a few things you might not have considered. It is the hope that caregivers do not feel bogged down by this hour, but that you feel seen, heard, stood by, recharged, encouraged and motivated to step back into the sacred role of caregiving just a little bit lighter.

National Memory Screenings (R)
Friday, Oct. 23; 9 a.m.-4 p.m.; Encore Room
Arden Courts is proud to offer the Alzheimer's Foundation of America's National Memory Screening, a series of questions and tasks gauging memory, language and thinking skills. Screenings are scheduled at 30-minute intervals and last just 5-10 minutes. Results are not a diagnosis, but someone scoring below the normal threshold may want to receive a full evaluation with a clinician. A person could be experiencing memory issues for a number of reasons. To schedule a free, confidential memory screening, please contact Zac Frazier at 708-422-4990 ext. 505.
