POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

One of my favorite moments I shared with chef Anne while competing on Worst Cooks in America. 🇺🇸

I value that whole experience greatly. As a creative person, we spend so much time and energy working on our projects. I had already been productive and prolific with releasing many albums and trying to push the music out there. This show became the largest platform I had the chance to take part in. Wasn’t really exactly what I had in mind. Music didn’t get me there either. It was those silly little construction videos. 🏗️

Enough about me. Chef Anne was a boss. This was her gig. She spoke confidently and demonstrated masterfully, dish after dish. I’ll admit I was low key salty I didn’t end up on Iron Chef Bobby Flay’s team. I grew up watching him cook. But I was picked to be a rockin red star and was proud to be. 🧨

Chef Anne and I didn’t always get along famously. I didn’t listen all the time. I had moments where I got flustered and struggled to perform under the intense pressure of the show. She once asked everyone to leave the set so she good have a “pep talk” with me. However when I did listen to her, I learned. I grew. I held my knife properly, except for that time when she got me with the red marker! 🖍️

Her methods made an impact on so many people. MISE EN PLAS. Slices, sticks, and dices. Bring to boil, reduce to simmer. Brown food tastes good. To the back not thru the back. “Thank you for coming” bowl for the stuff you’d throw out and not use. I got to be shown and immediately apply these techniques as I fought to stay alive on season 17. I made it 6 episodes. When I came home, my little 4 year old daughter told me “you left me for 3 weeks, alllll for nothin!” 😩😂

I just felt it necessary to share a little bit about my experiences working with her. Hopefully she’s in the nicest kitchen ever high in the sky and yiayia can show her what I meant about making the avagelemono. 🇬🇷

Rest in peace chef. Legends never die. ♥️
