I didn‘t start with a bottle. I started with a desert. AURON began as a question I couldn’t let go of: can a fragrance carry an entire landscape — not as inspiration, but as material? The Australian outback answered. Red earth, vetiver root, thorn and shadow. I mapped its palette, its tension between harshness and warmth, and let the system build itself from there. The bottle form, the wood cap, the naming, the creature that guards it. Every decision traces back to the same ground. THRON DEVEIL takes its name from the thorny devil — a lizard that survives the desert by becoming part of it. The fragrance follows the same logic. You don‘t wear a scent. You wear the land. AURON is a concept project — every frame designed, generated, and directed by one person. The thinking behind it is what I bring to every brand I work on. AURA. oakseok gear 8.2 From the perspective of the observer, art must possess visual beauty and serve as a show for the audience, regardless of where the inspiration originates. I wanted to capture the aesthetics of the fleeting moment, maximizing the expression of forms that continuously shift with the wind. Nylon and silk. By combining these two unexpectedly contrasting materials, I sought to create a unique visual imagery born from contradiction. Revealing and concealing, exaggeration and restraint, femininity and masculinity, yin and yang. This gear embodies the philosophy of moderation—finding the perfect balance and harmony at the boundaries of these extremes. 감상의 주체인 관객의 입장에서, 예술은 영감의 기원과 무관하게 그 자체로 시각적 아름다움이자 하나의 쇼(show)가 되어야 한다. 바람에 따라 시시각각 변하는 형태를 극대화하여 찰나의 미학을 오롯이 담아내고자 했다. 나일론과 실크. 결코 어울리지 않을 듯한 두 소재의 조합을 통해, 상반됨이 빚어내는 독특한 시각적 심상을 시도했다. 드러냄과 감춤, 과장됨과 덜어냄, 여성성과 남성성, 그리고 음과 양. 이 모든 극단의 경계에서 균형을 잡는 중용(中庸)의 태도를 이 기어(gear)에 담았다. oakseok gear 8.1 From physical craft to digital twin. Fashion has always been my deepest passion. My five years working as a designer at a fashion brand, experiencing the intense process of bringing garments to life, has given me a solid foundation to expand into the new realm of 3D art. Now, I aim to tell the narrative beyond it. States are in constant flux. I wanted to visualize this Buddhist teaching of impermanence through this gear. This project is a 3D digital twin of an art piece I physically crafted myself. Combining ultra-light nylon with string stoppers, it is designed to allow the wearer to dramatically transform the silhouette through their own choices, embodying the beauty of continuous change. Fluid in shape, practical in design. This is the practical avant-garde I pursue. 현실의 작업물에서 디지털 트윈으로. 패션은 늘 내게 가장 강렬한 몰입의 대상이었다. 지난 5년간 패션 브랜드에서 디자이너로 일하며 실제 옷이 만들어지는 치열한 과정을 몸소 겪었고, 이를 통해 3D 아트라는 새로운 영역으로 확장할 수 있는 단단한 기반을 얻었다. 이제는 그 너머의 서사를 이야기하려 한다. ’상태는 언제나 변한다.‘ 이번 작업은 만물이 끊임없이 변화한다는 불교의 가르침, ’무상(無常)‘을 단순한 옷을 넘어선 하나의 ’기어(gear)‘로 시각화한 결과물이기도 하다. 내가 직접 만든 이 아트피스의 3D 디지털 트윈은, 아주 얇은 나일론 소재와 스트링 스토퍼를 결합해 착용자의 매 순간의 선택에 따라 실루엣이 유기적이고 극적으로 변형되도록 설계했다. 고정되지 않고 흐르는 변화 그 자체를 담아내고자 했다. 유연한 형태, 실용적인 디자인. 이것이 내가 추구하는 실용적인 아방가르드이다.
