Time to say goodbye to Pottle. 🏡🤍

Fíadh’s first home, and the place where we shared so many wonderful memories and celebrated some big milestones. It will always hold a special place in our hearts.

Thank you for being home. Now it’s time for our next adventure. ❤️✨ by @oaktreenest

As President of Ireland, Michael D. Higgins has been more than a head of state—he has been a moral compass, a cultural champion, and a tireless advocate for the values that define our nation. His presidency was not just about protocol and ceremony; it was about empathy, vision, and an unwavering belief in the dignity of every person.

From his eloquent speeches that blended poetry with politics, to his steadfast support for social justice, equality, and environmental protection, Higgins elevated the role of the presidency into something profoundly human. He reminded Ireland, and the world, that leadership is not about power, but about service. His passion for the arts, his deep respect for history, and his ability to speak to the heart of the Irish identity made him a unifying figure in a rapidly changing world.

It is genuinely sad to see his time as President come to an end. His presence brought warmth to the highest office, and his words often brought comfort during moments of national challenge. Ireland has been fortunate to have a leader whose intellect was matched only by his compassion. Michael D. Higgins’ legacy will not be measured simply by the years he served, but by the countless lives he inspired—at home and abroad—to believe in a more just and caring society.

But in our house, at least, he’s not going anywhere!! With his woolly suit, wise smile, and permanently good hair day, he’ll continue to pour warmth and good humour into our daily lives. His presidency may be ending—but his legacy will keep the tea, and the spirit of Ireland, perfectly steeped for years to come! 😆 🇮🇪 💚 by @oaktreenest
