𝖂𝖍𝖎𝖙𝖇𝖞 (𝕬𝖓𝖉 𝕳𝖔𝖜𝖆𝖗𝖙𝖍) 𝕭𝖔𝖔𝖐 𝕳𝖆𝖚𝖑🦇

I couldn't go to either of these famous spots without getting a couple of books could I?!

I found this stunning edition of Dracula (with the Whitby abbey sprayed onto the edges!!!!) in @whitbybookshop, alongside so many other pretty editions. Being from where Dracula was originally thought up and written made this so so special (and justified) in my opinion and I won't hear any different x

The other two stunning books I collected were from the @cabinetofcuriosities_shop in Haworth that surprisingly had a HUGE collection full of special editions, and with it being the famous birthplace of the Brontë sisters, I couldn't leave without one of their OG's (especially when it looks like that without the dust cover🤤) could I?

Big thanks to my unassuming family that funded these for me when I spent all of my money on bills, love u xx taken in BOOKSTA by @oatychapters

𝕬 𝖗𝖊𝖆𝖉𝖊𝖗𝖘 𝖌𝖚𝖎𝖉𝖊 𝖙𝖔 𝖂𝖍𝖎𝖙𝖇𝖞 (𝕬𝖓𝖉 𝕳𝖆𝖜𝖔𝖗𝖙𝖍)🧛🏻‍♂️

I was lucky enough to be invited on a last minute trip to Whitby & Haworth for a couple of days last week, so I fully made the most of it and dragged my family around ALL of the iconic sights and bookshops- where I might’ve been abit spoilt xx (more to come on that, but for now here’s a little summary of some must visit places)

My personal fave was the @wave_of_nostalgia_haworth store in Haworth that had the most AMAZING selection of special edition books written by some of the best female authors, the staff there were also so so nice and I’d highly recommend a visit if you are in the area! 🖤 taken in Whitby by @oatychapters

Do I have any astrology girlies following me? I really only know the basics so that’s what I stick to, but this was such a fun idea and I couldn’t resist!

Please be gentle with me on this one, I’m fragile💀

I didn’t want to make it all about moaning so I threw in a couple of positive slides to balance everything out xo

Also I don’t know who I think I am posting twice in one day tbh taken in BOOKSTA by @oatychapters

I turned 30 on the 12th of this month and I was so so lucky to get absolutely spoilt by my loved ones with lots of books that have been on my TBR for so long. I’ve already started powering through ‘Eat the ones you love’ and we are definitely off to a good start, it has the best ‘little shop of horrors’ vibes which is always GREAT. I’m also extremely excited to finally start the Gods & Monsters series soon! Are any of your favourites here?!

(Side note, I know that haunting Adeline has a bad rep and I’ll probably hate it, but I sometimes can’t resist a shit book, shoot me) xx taken in BOOKSTA by @oatychapters

𝕸𝖞 𝖋𝖎𝖗𝖘𝖙 𝕯𝕹𝕱 (𝕯𝖎𝖉 𝖓𝖔𝖙 𝖋𝖎𝖓𝖎𝖘𝖍)⚖️

I’ve been nervous about posting this one because I don’t want to put anybody off of potentially reading something AND I’m feeling a lot of shame for not finishing a book for the first time- but I finally gave in and had my first DNF read and it was ‘Katabasis’ by R.F.Kuang. I’d heard so many mixed reviews and posts surrounding this book previously and it had been on my TBR list for a couple of years, so when I saw this stunning sprayed edge edition in Edinburgh (points to my partner for gifting me it x) I thought it was finally time to give it a go. I only made it to page 112 and that in itself took my SO long- around two weeks which, if you know me, says a lot. I struggled deeply with connecting to both the FMC and the MMC and instantly disliked them from the start, the premise of the book when reading the summary sounded as if it’d be one that I’d enjoy, but instead the combination of the academic setting and pretentious writing style of the author completely threw me and made it extremely hard to immerse myself into the story. Have any of you read this, if so, did it get any better? I’m still really looking forward to the poppy war series by the same author so I’m hoping that I get on with those a lot better xo taken in BOOKSTA by @oatychapters

I’m baaaaaack- and finally recovered enough to make a post about all of the amazing places that we got to visit when we returned to Edinburgh! The Book Lovers Bookshop was my personal favourite because they had SO MANY special editions of my favourite books- I 1000% recommend if you’re in the area, the staff are so lovely too! ⚔️

Have you ventured to any of these places? by @oatychapters

𝕾𝖍𝖊𝖑𝖋𝖎𝖊 𝕾𝖚𝖓𝖉𝖆𝖞🧛🏻

Ok so we’re going to pretend that this isn’t a day late because yesterday I was severely hungover and recovering from the Count your blessings Manchester show and couldn’t look at my phone without throwing up💀

Side note though I’ve seen two of my favourite bands (BMTH & MCR) In the past two weeks and it has been the best, teenage me is in shambles. It also means that I’m SO behind on my reading for this month but it’s been so worth it. Did any of you attend either of the shows?! taken in BOOKSTA by @oatychapters
