OA 🤝 North Attleboro

Our second dual meet took place earlier this week, and each of our squads came out with the win.

The JV boys race was a dense pack up front. Up the final hill and into the closing stretch, Lucas Hobkirk came out first over all followed by Jay Powers, Simon Sheldon, Patrick Thomas, Aidan McDonagh, and Landon Carroll for spots 3-7. Max Sierra took 9th to displace North’s three other scorers, giving the boys a decisive victory.

The JV girls race was dominated by Ava Garcia out front. Alicia Fisher placed 2nd, while Maddie Pantezelos got 4th. Louisa Caliri & Julia Galvin were our last two scorers in, finishing 8th & 9th respectively. Sara Ford finished 10th to displace one runner from North.

The varsity boys race was finished after a 2-5 finish from Devon McStowe, Corey Yifru, Peter Feodoroff, and Jake Hauvuy. Nico Colvin rounded out the team score in 9th, and Collin Hrenko displaced one runner by finishing 10th.

The varsity girls race was won individually by Katie Beaulieu after a strong second half surge. Devin Thomas claimed 3rd overall while Norah Dupill, Maddy Freedman, and Ashley Gramer finished 6-8th to secure the W.

Next week lies our third dual meet & first invitational. Lots of work to do until then, and plenty to accomplish when we get there. by @oaxctf

OA 🤝 KP

Our season kicked off last week with a tight dual meet against King Philip over at Highland Park.

In the JV race, the boys fell short in the team score with the freshman duo of Jay Powers & Patrick Thomas leading the charge for the tigers. Not too far behind were Simon Sheldon & Landon Carroll, and Nathan Zimmerman rounded out the scoring 5. The JV girls came away with a strong win, with our top 5 in being all freshman (Ava Garcia, Alysha Fisher, Maddie Pantazelos, Sara Ford, & Louisa Caliri).

The varsity girls race was a narrow one, but ultimately fell short at the tie breaker (KP’s 6th runner came in before our’s). Katie Beaulieu decisively led the charge in the race while Devin Thomas secured 3rd place. Norah Dupill got 6th place with her race-of-the-day winning surge alongside Ashley Gramer in 7th. Maddy Freedman finished 11th to finish off our team score.

The boys varsity race was a statement win. Devon McStowe tore up the course with a win in 16:14. Corey Yifru followed behind in second, with Jake Hauvuy & Peter Feodoroff not too far behind in third/fourth. Nico Colvin ran a gusty race to place 7th overall and earn race of the day accolades.

With the regular season officially underway, we move forward from this one and look towards our next challenge to come. by @oaxctf

OA 🤝 Nationals

The other weekend marked the final competition for our remaining five athletes at New Balance Outdoor Nationals. Landon capped off a historic OA career with one last go in the championship 2 mile, while Corey marked his time with OA 25% of the way done in the frosh 2 mile. Lavender had strong performances in the championship long jump & 100m dash, while Ashlyn Hrenko landed herself 12th in the freshman javelin. Lastly, Mitchell tossed a season’s best in the championship shot put, earning himself second place & an All-American accolades! Congrats to the 5 of you for putting it all out there once more this season- you never fail to make us proud!! by @oaxctf
