The local-est wine Southern California has to offer: harvested in OB, stomped at @thetemplateob , and pressed in WB. The @obbrewersguild Vintner Division picked 115 lbs of Concord red grapes at Carly's Vineyard overlooking the pier, and then stomped the grapes with our feet (we washed them thoroughly). After ph & gravity testing, grape pressing, and 12 total steps, the wine will ferment for about a week and then will be aged for the next 6 months. 🍇 taken in Ocean Beach by @obbrewersguild

Strike gold with us @pizzaportob!

OB Summer Gold is a 6% Summer Ale brewed with local lemons from the OB Women's Garden and honey from the @sandiegobeekeepingsociety. Dry, refreshing, and built for sunny days by the coast.

In collaboration with the @oceanbeachwomansclub, @obbrewery, and @obbrewersguild, this beer is pure community gold. We'll be getting together for it's release this Thursday, so come hang out and enjoy!

Please join us in welcoming the 12th member of the OB Brewers Guild - Melissa Hoon @melissagracehoon !!

We first met Melissa (Prost) about six years ago when we were doing a fermentation class @obhardware and brought some of our homebrew to sample.

Ever since then she’s been chipping away at Guild membership and finally crossed the finish line recently with a delicious Extra Pale Ale (XPA) she brewed!

Welcome to the Guild, Melissa, we’re so happy to have you … HIP HIP HOORAY!! 🍻 taken in Ocean Beach by @obbrewersguild

Another fantastic trip to Denver for the 44th annual Great American Beer Festival. We had Jeff, Ray, and Jon from the Guild plus some extra friends to help us get through all the tastings! Congrats to OB brewery @pizzaportob for winning a medal! Here are some brewing ideas we got at the festival that we intend to try this next year:

jalapeño infused lager
Groot beer (historical beer made without hops)
lightly smoked lager
using golden promise malt as a base
Hoppy beer made with Juniper tips taken in Denver, Colorado by @obbrewersguild

MAJOR GUILD ANNOUNCEMENT!!

It is with much fanfare and adoration that we have the pleasure of announcing the 11th member of the OB Brewers Guild - Ray Winn!

Ray has met all of the membership requirements and has already been a big contributor to many Guild events.

He is also the first guild member ever to skip over extract brewing and go straight to all grain … quite impressive!

Please join us in celebrating this momentous occasion by raising a beer to Ray - hip hop hooRAY!! taken in OB by @obbrewersguild

The 2024 WB Block Party was a HUGE success! We kicked all 5 kegs by 6:30p and probably would have broken the all time Guild record of 6 if we had brewed that many!!!
A big thank you to Ray and Rubyat for pouring homebrews all day! And also a special thanks to @sambeezi from Ketch Brewing and @myrmo_built from Hodads Brewing for donating the hops that went into those tasty brews!
