Balance. ⚖️ by @obeah_r2

I almost didn’t come.
When I was first asked about Caribana, I said nah man.
Then life reminded me how quickly everything can change.
See how fast I booked Trini and Bana!
Whatever. Life is short. Live it!

I’ve been to Trinidad a few times over the years. The difference is, this time I slowed down enough to truly experience it.
After my heart attack, I promised myself I’d stop waiting for “someday”.
This trip was more than a vacation. It was a chance to reconnect with my roots/family. Spend our 22nd anniversary with my wife and create more memories.
Big up my cousin @forester_kishan (who is exactly like me in many ways) thanks for everything!
Everything happens for a reason.

Flying out to see my dad, I’ve always treated every visit like it could be our last... because of HIS heart.
Didn’t expect life to flip that perspective on me.
Grateful for every moment. Nothing is guaranteed. by @obeah_r2

March 25, 2026 is a date I’ll never forget.

For about a month leading up to it, I had recurring chest pains—sometimes seconds, sometimes minutes. I went to doctors, did EKGs, blood tests… everything kept coming back “normal.” Cholesterol in perfect range.
I was told it was likely heartburn. I believed it. I even kept working out through the pain.
Constantly exerting myself.

That morning, the pain hit again. I waited approximately 4 hrs… because I thought I already knew what it was. I was comforted and convinced that my heart was healthy by the doctors so it must be acid related. Right?
Well, I guess at the back of my mind I still wasn’t completely convinced. So I popped an ASA/Asprin for the road.

After finally going to St B Emergency, they found a 100% blockage in my LAD artery. Massive Heart Attack. I was rushed in for an angiogram and had a stent placed. By some miracle, the damage was minimal.
Doctors attributed my positive outcome to my healthy lifestyle.
Me… God. 🙏🏾

I’m not sharing this for sympathy. I’m sharing it because someone out there might be going through the same thing, second-guessing themselves like I did.
Listen to your body. Advocate for yourself. If something feels off, push for answers.

I’ve always preached living life to the fullest—and now more than ever, I understand why. This feels like a second chance, and I’m going to keep living that message every single day.

Thank you to my family and friends for the support—more than you know.
If my story helps even one person, it’s worth it.

If you have questions, my DMs are always open.

Take care of yourselves ❤️ by @obeah_r2
