🎭 Congratulations to Oyster Bay High School junior Madeline Mathews, whose original play has been selected for performance at the NYSTEA Student Theatre Conference this winter!

As part of this incredible honor, Madeline has been paired with a professional playwright who will mentor her and help refine her work ahead of its January debut. We can't wait to follow her journey and share a deeper look at the experience of writing, developing, and seeing her play brought to life when she returns from the conference.

Join us in congratulating Madeline on this outstanding achievement! 👏✨

Congratulations to Oyster Bay High School senior Christos Kokotos, who has been named a 2026-27 Long Island Scholar-Artist in visual arts!

Christos was selected for his work in photography, an art form he has explored for much of his life. Drawn especially to street photography and cityscapes, he finds inspiration throughout New York City, capturing everyday moments through his own perspective on composition, light and color.

Presented by the Long Island Arts Alliance in partnership with Newsday, the Scholar-Artist Awards recognize high school seniors who excel in both the arts and academics.

Congratulations, Christos, on this outstanding recognition!

OBMHS spirit was in full force at the homecoming pep rally! Despite stormy weather postponing several homecoming festivities, students brought the energy to the gym for a day of music, performances and school pride.

This year’s “Cities” theme featured lip sync performances from each class, with the seniors taking the win for their New York City-inspired performance. The winning number will return to the spotlight at halftime of the final home football game on Saturday, Oct. 31.

All JV and varsity teams were also recognized as students cheered on their classmates and teammates, and the homecoming court was announced. A homecoming celebration worthy of the Baymen!

College search season is underway at OBHS!
Nearly 60 colleges and universities joined us on campus yesterday, giving students the chance to explore programs, ask questions and connect directly with admissions representatives.

From Long Island and SUNY campuses to colleges across the country, students had plenty of possibilities to consider, along with opportunities beyond the traditional college path.

And this is just the beginning. Another college fair is coming next week, with more opportunities ahead for students as they plan for life after high school.
