Daddy I want to tell the world about you. I want to tell them how much you loved me and cared for me. How you worked two hods to make sure that me and our family ate. Daddy I love you and I miss you so much. It not fair that you got token away from me so soon. I still remember when you would call me everyday while I was in Tally to ask me if I was ok, if people were treating me right, if I did my homework, if I ate and many more. Cancer was they way you died but cancer doesn’t understand what it took form me. It good a good man who was not able to enjoy his hard work. It took a father who will never see his daughter graduate form college, become a doctor, get married or even her children. I will say this till me get sick of me, “ I love you daddy and losing you was the worst thing to ever happen to me.” You deserved to see me accomplish everything you prayed for and worked hard for. Who will I call when I am cry and 2 am in the morning. Who will I care when someone makes me mad and I have a bad day. Who will call me to tell me that you can’t wait for me to come home so that we can spend time together. You can’t wait because you got me gifts or clothes that I need to try on. Daddy I love you and I will still be waiting for you to walk through those front doors to give me a hug or food from you job cuz I didn’t want to eat moms cooking. Goodbye Daddy I pray that you are in Gods hands right now. I pray that you are look over me and my brothers. I pray that I still make you proud and keep all of the values that you taught me. Yesterday, I officially became an alumna of Florida State University. As I walked across that stage, I was overcome with joy and gratitude. I thank God for saving my life.

On August 1, 2023, my favorite person in the world passed away. It has been three years, and sometimes it still feels like it was just yesterday. My father’s passing showed me that life is not promised. Because of that, everything I want to do will be DONE! So watch out, y’all, because I will be fulfilling every gift and every promise that has been spoken over my life.

On October 23, 2023, my heart gave out, and I had to be rushed to the hospital. I found out I had a heart condition when I was 16 years old, but what I didn’t truly understand was that something like that could have ended my life so quickly. After countless hospital visits and surgery, the road to recovery was long. Tomorrow is never promised, so I made sure to make every day count.

Thank you to my family and friends for always being there for me. Thank you to @care_fsu for taking a chance on me and changing my life. Thank you to my mentors for never leaving my side. And thank you to my church, @vfcorlando , for your continued prayers and for showing me what it truly means to remain at the Lord’s feet.

God did his thing when he made me Haitian. 🇭🇹

To My Father: Thank you for all that you have done for me. From working two jobs to get me and my siblings through school and life to visiting FSU with me once I got accepted. I will always remember the joy and pride you had. Calling friends and people from Haiti to let them know. I am overly grateful for the Haiti roots that you have given. I have made long lasting friendships and connections that will forever grow with me. I hate cancer took you away from me so soon but this post is for you. As I walk the stage on July 31st 2026. I will take these words with me: “Edikasyon se sèl bagay pèsonn pa ka pran nan men w.”

English translation “Education is the one things that no one can take away from you.”

To My Mother:
Thank you for ensuring that I never left God through my hard times. You are the strongest women I know. I don’t even understand how you fight the way you do sometimes. Thank you for being my best friend, the women I can call form heart breaks to days when I am shopping and I am asking is this is cute. Thank for showing me how to become a real women but especially an Haitian woman. Your favorite this to say till this day: “Pa gen pwoblèm sa lavi voye sou ou, pa janm kite bò kote Bondye.”

English translation:“It doesn’t matter what life throws at you, never leave Gods side. ”
