Every OB-GYN knows this thought crosses patients’ minds before their first Pap test 😅

Truth: we truly do not care about shaving, waxing, or anything else.

We just want to make sure you’re healthy.

Some losses are invisible to the world—but that doesn’t make them any less real. 🤍

On October 15, Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Day, we honor the babies who are deeply loved and missed, and the families carrying their memory.

As an OB-GYN, I want you to know: you don’t have to minimize your loss, explain your grief, or follow anyone else’s timeline for healing.

Whether your loss was recent or years ago, whether you shared it or held it privately—your experience matters. You deserve compassion and support.

If someone you love has experienced loss, you don’t need perfect words. Start with: “I’m so sorry. I’m here to listen.” Keep checking in, even after everyone else has returned to everyday life.

Remembering with you today. No explanation or sharing required. 🕯️

What’s an “Ozempic baby”? 👶

I’ve had more than one patient tell me, “But I was on the pill!” Here’s what nobody told them 👇

GLP-1 medications like Ozempic, Wegovy, Mounjaro and Zepbound can affect your fertility and your birth control in ways most people don’t expect:

✨ Losing weight and improving insulin can restart ovulation, especially with PCOS/PMOS
✨ Mounjaro and Zepbound can make the pill less effective, so use a backup method for 4 weeks after starting and after every dose increase
✨ Vomiting or diarrhea from any GLP-1 can keep your pill from absorbing

If you’re on one of these medications and don’t want to get pregnant right now, talk to your doctor about whether your birth control is still the right fit.

And if you’re planning a pregnancy, or you’re already pregnant, swipe to the end for what to do next. 💜

📌 Save this for later
📲 Send it to a friend on a GLP-1

This post is for education only and isn’t medical advice. Talk to your own doctor about your situation.

How much do OB-GYNs make?

I hope I make people feel heard. I hope I make their pain feel believed. And I hope I make it a little easier for them to say, “I deserve care, too.” 🤍

I spent my whole life wanting to be a doctor. What I couldn’t have imagined was how deeply being an OB-GYN would connect me to people and families from so many walks of life.

You’ve trusted me with your fears, your unanswered questions, your hardest days, and some of your happiest moments. Those encounters have shaped me as a physician and as a person.

Sometimes I help someone welcome a baby. Sometimes I help someone find relief after years of pain. Sometimes we make a plan that gives them hope again.

And sometimes, the most meaningful thing I can offer is a reminder: you don’t have to keep putting yourself last. Your health matters. Your pain matters. You matter.

To every patient who has let me be part of their story—thank you. Caring for you is the dream I grew up with, and a privilege I carry every day. 🤍

Send this to someone who needs permission to care for herself, too.

Still getting periods—but hot flashes and night sweats are disrupting your life? You don’t have to wait until your periods stop to discuss relief. 💛

For Monday Menopause Minute #19, we’re talking about the new ACP guideline announced October 5, 2026. It recommends hormone therapy as a first-line option for hot flashes and night sweats in eligible patients during perimenopause and after menopause.

This supports what ACOG has already emphasized: treatment can help during the menopause transition.

Your care should fit YOU—your symptoms, medical history, risks, and preferences. If hormones aren’t appropriate or you prefer another approach, nonhormonal prescription options are available, too.

✨ At your next visit, ask: “What treatment fits my symptoms and my health history?”

Save this for your appointment, share with a friend, and follow for more Monday Menopause Minutes.

Pregnant—and unsure which vaccines are safe? 🤰💉 Save this guide.

As a board-certified OB-GYN, I want you to understand what’s recommended, when to get it, and how it helps protect you and your baby. 💛

Your pregnancy vaccine checklist:
💉 FLU: Any trimester, every flu season.
💉 COVID-19: Any trimester, when due for the updated vaccine—recommended by ACOG.
💉 TDAP: 27–36 weeks during EVERY pregnancy, preferably early in that window.
💉 RSV: Abrysvo only, at 32 weeks 0 days–36 weeks 6 days, September–January in most of the U.S.

Already received the RSV vaccine during a previous pregnancy? Another maternal dose isn’t currently recommended—your baby should receive an RSV preventive antibody instead.

Other vaccines may be appropriate based on your vaccination history and individual risks. Ask at your next prenatal visit: “Which vaccines am I due for?”

📌 Save this for your next appointment.
💌 Share with a pregnant friend.
Follow for clear, evidence-based women’s health education.

Yes, I’m a doctor. But I’m a mom first. 🤍

And depending on the hour… a cheerleader, boss, tutor, cleaner, snack coordinator, and the family’s IT department. 😂

One of the most beautiful parts of being an OB-GYN is getting to help women become moms and care for them through that journey—while living my own.

Motherhood is a role close to my heart, and supporting you through it is such a privilege. ✨

What roles would you add to your list? 👇🏽

I am so lucky that I get to hear the birthday song every time I deliver a new baby into this world….. but when it’s your own birthday it hits a little differently. Birthdays have a way of making us pause and reflect. 🎂🤍

At a certain point in life, you start thinking about how you feel, what you need, and how you want to spend your time.

What I’m learning this birthday is that it’s okay to put my health and well-being first, too. It’s okay to rest, ask for help, set boundaries, and make room for joy.

And that’s my wish for every one of my patients and followers: please be kind to yourself. Your physical, mental, and emotional health deserve your attention—not just whatever time is left after you’ve cared for everyone else.

Make the appointment. Take your symptoms seriously. Give yourself permission to pause. You don’t have to reach exhaustion before you deserve care.

I’m still learning to give myself the grace I give my patients. Here’s to another year of practicing that together. ✨

What’s one way you’ll put your well-being first this year? 🤍

Your mammogram says “dense breasts”… does that mean you have cancer? 🎀

No—but it’s worth understanding what it means.

Dense breasts have more glandular and fibrous tissue and less fat. Density is seen on a mammogram—you can’t tell by breast size or how they feel.

💗 Why does it matter?
Dense tissue can make cancer harder to see on a mammogram, and it also increases breast cancer risk. Mammograms still matter!

🔎 Should you get an ultrasound or MRI?
That depends on your overall risk—not breast density alone.

One helpful tool is the Tyrer–Cuzick risk calculator, which estimates breast cancer risk using your personal history, family history, and, in updated versions, breast density.

If your estimated lifetime risk is 20% or higher, annual breast MRI in addition to mammography may be recommended. Review your results with your OB-GYN or breast specialist to make a personalized screening plan.

🔗 Explore the calculator:
https://magview.com/ibis-risk-calculator/

Save your results and bring them to your appointment. This is a risk estimate—not a cancer diagnosis. The calculator is not intended for people who have already had breast cancer.

📌 Save this for your next mammogram.
💕 Share it with someone who has been told she has dense breasts.
