On a calm, rainy day in Amsterdam, I had a delightful breakfast at the one and only Mortimer. Tucked away in a little two-story building, this restaurant packed a serious punch. Upon entering, my friends and I were kindly greeted, then immediately seated on the second floor. It took some time for us to figure out exactly what we wanted, but I eventually went for the carbonara croissant. It included eggs benedict but substituted those for scrambled eggs, and it is here that I’ll admit my previous apprehension towards runny eggs. This was quickly amended by a runny egg dish I had a few days later, but I’m getting ahead of myself. This carbonara croissant featured a buttery, flaky croissant, fluffy eggs, and an unbelievable carbonara sauce topped with parmesan cheese. I took a bite and before ascending into heaven, I also got an apple juice which, may I add, was the most succulent apple juice I’ve ever had. It was perfectly chilled with no ice, and had a balanced, refreshing sweetness. This meal added 10 years to my lifespan! I want to thank the lovely ladies at Mortimer who served us and gave us such a fantastic experience. by @obiomaeats

I took a one way trip to flavor town and haven’t looked back since! This morning, my friend and I went to @honesttogoodnesscafe in The Liberties with two things on our minds: internship applications and a Caesar salad wrap. We found a little wooden table near the window and waddled over to the till to order. While waiting for our meals, we sat patiently with our computers open. Before we knew it, the food arrived. The chocolate chip cookie you see on the right was the first thing to enter my mouth. Naturally, the sea salt caught my eye, and it caught my tastebuds too! This cookie was soft on the inside and crunchy on the outside, and had the perfect chocolate chip to cookie dough ratio. Then, the main event arrived: Miss Caesar! This wrap was large and in charge. With a slight toast on the bottom, the wrap with filled with everything you would expect: lettuce, chicken, Caesar salad dressing, bacon, the works. The intrigue of this wrap in particular was the quality of the ingredients. This wrap has certainly secured its spot in my Caesar wrap hall of fame. The couscous left a little to be desired, but the wrap was the star of the show anyway, so I really can’t complain. Let’s not forget the chai! This chai latte (with vanilla syrup of course) was a lovely balance between sweet and spicy. This meal was wonderful and added 8.5 years to my life. Everyone at Honest to Goodness was so kind and we had a fantastic time! by @obiomaeats
