Over 80 minds and hands came together to pull this off, doing hours of rehearsal over months of planning, testing, making, failing and editing. Watching a room full of people mesmerised, delighted, confounded is truly the grand prize.

We set out to achieve an immersive experience that honoured the work, but also offered something new. A way to view objects as they interact with spaces and bodies. It was a representation of an idea central to our ethos – that art takes time, effort, thought and above all, humanity.

We do not have capacity to repair on your behalf, this is a guided session designed to help you develop a clothing care practice. Sometimes the most tender part of the party is the moments before it kicks off. Final touches to space, looks and faces, fluttering anticipation, moments of gratitude for that which we are about to give and receive.

This may be your last chance to experience this iteration of Object Merchant.

We’re so grateful for the opportunity to work hard at something we care about, but it does come at a price.

We’re self funded, obsessive and uncompromising in our values, and while this makes for great events, it also makes it unlikely that we’ll be able to deliver a fourth event at this scale. To be real, we’ll be lucky if we break even once all is said and done.

And that’s not for lack of vision or execution. We’re incredibly confident in our ability to put on a spectacular show. It’s just the unfortunate reality of creating in the current climate.

So we’re calling on you for what may well be last drinks. It’s going to be special. Grab your ticket and celebrate the creative community!

SO EXCITING SEEING OUR POSTERS IN A0 !
FEELS LIKE THE REAL DEAL

The posters we create set the tone for how we approach the event. This year our aim was to inspire awe at the proficiency of skilled hands.

Six distinct still life images meticulously crafted from the composite crafts of different disciplines represented at Object Merchant – ceramic, jewellery, fashion, art, food and music.

These images were created without the use of AI or excessive retouching. Just hours in the studio playing, inching towards our desired outcome.
