Folks, my father has been diagnosed with colon cancer. He has undergone a major operation and two other smaller ones in the last 14 days. If you could keep him and my sweet Mom in your prayers, I would be forever grateful. Q

For those of waiting on or requesting paintings, please know that I am in SC taking care of my parents. If you are located in Birmingham, you can stop by my gallery in Crestwood Pickers and speak with my gallery manager, Bubba. He can assist you and can also take info regarding commissions, etc.

Thank you! šŸ™ šŸ™

✨ What happens when you marry someone who encourages you to be your very best self?

Kyle spent decades in DC, then became an artist later in life — and the shift was bigger than the career change.

What stood out most was how much it matters to have someone who doesn’t dim your light, but gives you room to grow into who you really are.

When someone supports your dreams, it changes everything.

You feel safer taking risks, more confident in your voice, and more free to become your best self.

Sometimes the right support doesn’t push you to be someone else.

It helps you become more of who you already are.

Tag the person in your life who helps you dream bigger 🦊

ā³ What if the real fountain of youth isn’t a cream or a supplement...

What if it’s curiosity?

Talking with artist Kyle Rogers about the community he’s found through his @obnoxiouslilshit art reminded me of something I’ve been thinking about for a while.

The people who seem to age the slowest aren’t necessarily the ones with the best genes.

They’re the ones who stay curious.

The ones who pick up a paintbrush at 50.
Who learn to fly fish at 60.
Who finally write the book.
Who ask questions.
Who travel.
Who make things with their hands.
Who surround themselves with other people who are creating, dreaming, building, and becoming.

Creativity keeps you looking forward.

Curiosity keeps you growing.

And growth has a funny way of making you feel younger than you’ve felt in years.

Maybe that’s why I started Red Fox on the Run in the first place—not to become an expert, but to remain a student.

Because every conversation, every adventure, every remarkable person I meet reminds me there’s still so much left to discover.

I have a hunch that staying curious might just be the closest thing we have to aging backward.

Tag the creative and curious people in your life who are aging backward✨

🦊 Full conversations with remarkable people are waiting on Red Fox on the Run—available on YouTube, Apple Podcasts, Spotify, and iHeart. Link in bio.

🦊 There are places that change your scenery.

And then there are places that change YOU.

For artist Kyle Rogers (@obnoxiouslilshit), one of those places is Round Top, Texas.

Every year, he makes the pilgrimage—not because he has to, but because he can’t imagine not going. It’s where painters gather on porches long after the galleries close. Where ideas are traded as freely as stories. Where established artists welcome newcomers into the fold. Where inspiration isn’t something you chase...it’s in the air.

In Episode #8 of Red Fox on the Run, Kyle pulls back the curtain on his annual sojourn to Round Top, sharing how this tiny Texas town has become his creative reset button and why the community he’s found there has become just as important as the art itself.

This isn’t a conversation about selling paintings.

It’s about finding your people.

Kyle Rogers (better known as @ObnoxiousLilShit) is a paint-slingin’ sonofabitch who never got the memo that there’s a ā€œrightā€ way to become an artist—and if he did, he’d have ignored it anyway.

Forget the gallery playbook. Forget exclusivity. Forget pretending art has to be mysterious, expensive, or wrapped in a layer of self-importance. Rogers has built a fiercely loyal following by doing the exact opposite of what conventional wisdom says an artist should do.

His studio—tucked inside Crestwood Pickers in Birmingham—is part gallery, part workshop, part neighborhood hangout. The door is open. People wander in. They watch him paint. They ask questions. They laugh. Sometimes they leave with a painting. Sometimes they don’t. Either way, they’re welcome.

Rogers even gives away a painting every single day, because he believes art should find its way into people’s lives—not just onto the walls of the highest bidder. He’s far more interested in creating connection than creating scarcity.

His work is bold, playful, layered, and unapologetically human, much like the artist himself. There are no manufactured personas here. No polished façade. Just paint, honesty, curiosity, and a healthy disregard for taking himself too seriously.

At the end of the day, Kyle Rogers is exactly who he appears to be: a guy slinging paint, telling the truth, making people smile, and proving that kindness, authenticity, and a little bit of mischief are still a pretty damn good way to move through the world.

Or, as writer and podcast host Christiana Roussel put it on Red Fox on the Run: ā€œKyle Rogers isn’t just painting canvases—he’s painting a life on his own terms.ā€ by @obnoxiouslilshit
