🌲 433 National Park Sites. One Mother-Daughter Adventure. And We’re Just Getting Started! 🇺🇸

Welcome to our adventure! ❤️

My daughter and I are on a mission to visit all 433 sites in the U.S. National Park System, and we're excited to finally share our journey with you!

Our latest stop was River Raisin National Battlefield Park in Michigan — Site #276! 🏞️

And what a memorable visit it was!

✨ We explored an incredible education center, met Cheri, whose family became the first family to visit all 418 National Park sites back in 2018, and even got to meet and shake hands with the park's new superintendent!

We came for the history but left with wonderful memories, new connections, and even more inspiration for this adventure.

This journey is about so much more than checking places off a list. It's about discovering the stories behind these special places, exploring nature, learning together, meeting incredible people, and making memories that will last a lifetime.

And getting to experience all of this with my daughter makes it even more meaningful. 💚

276 sites visited. 157 to go. And so many adventures still ahead! 🌎

Follow along as we explore America's national parks, discover hidden gems, learn some history, and share the people and experiences that make each stop special.

Had a fairly serious photo shoot (you know, all businessy and whatnot 😎📸) with the incredible @taimages04, and the photos are FABULOUS. Truly. But maybe just a tiny bit too serious for this tree-hugging, outdoors-loving, slightly ridiculous human. 😂🌳

So, naturally, I asked, “Can I just hug a tree?”

When you finally get to hold the magazines you’ve spent MONTHS creating. 🥹📚

Is it perfect? Nope.
Have I ever made a magazine before? Also nope.
Am I dang proud of it? ABSOLUTELY. 🙌

A whole lot of learning, late nights, decisions, and probably a few too many tabs open went into bringing this thing to life. And now it’s REAL.

Executive Director by day, oboist by night, and apparently magazine creator somewhere in between. 😂

Here’s to trying new things, figuring it out as we go, and being proud of what we create along the way. 💚

Some mornings, you just have to laugh at yourself. 😂

This morning I paid for my gas inside, got back in my car, and drove away… only to look down about three blocks later and realize my gas cap was still open. 🤦‍♀️

So I turned around, went back, and finished what my brain apparently forgot to finish the first time. 😂

But then my morning got MUCH better because I discovered something I'm very excited about: Exceptional Bean + Sip & Sign! ☕️🤟

On the FIRST Tuesday of every month from 4–5 p.m., Sip & Sign meets at Exceptional Bean for coffee, conversation, and connection through American Sign Language. And I just think this is the coolest thing. Anyone want to help me brush up on my ASL? I'm very rusty!

I love finding little pockets of community like this—especially ones that make people feel welcome, connected, and included. ❤️

So if you're looking for a reason to try a new coffee shop, learn some ASL, meet some good people, or just get out of the house for an hour, put the first Tuesday of the month on your calendar.

And maybe check your gas cap before you drive away. 😂☕️🤟

Tell me you live in an arts community without telling me… 🎶

It’s lunchtime on a Friday, and just a few steps from my office, there’s live music happening at the historic train depot. 🚂🎵

Today, Andrew Buckner filled the depot with music—and I absolutely love that I saw SO MANY Bryan Symphony Orchestra patrons in the audience!

This is what makes an arts community special: music isn’t just something we experience on concert nights. It’s woven into our everyday lives—in our downtown, our businesses, our public spaces, and our community.

So grateful to live and work in a place where you can walk out of your office at lunchtime and stumble into a concert. ❤️🎶

It’s not always sunshine and rainbows…

Oh wait. Sometimes it really is. 🌞🌈🌿

I spent an incredible weekend hiking, camping, exploring, and soaking up every bit of beauty at the Obed Wild and Scenic River. There’s something about getting out into the woods, following a trail, hearing the river, sleeping under the stars, and letting the rest of the world get a little quieter.

No fancy itinerary. No rushing. Just miles on my feet, fresh air in my lungs, beautiful views, and a very happy heart.

Sometimes you don’t need to escape your life—you just need to step outside of it for a little while. 💚

Feeling incredibly grateful for this beautiful place and for a weekend that reminded me just how good life can be.

Some days just remind you how incredibly blessed you are. ❤️

I got to see my daughter before she marched in a parade, spend time at an incredible event supporting women—beautifully organized by @jill_edwards_stalnaker—and bring several friends along with me. I even got to see several of my board members there, too!

This morning, coffee with my man. ☕️❤️

And to top it all off, I got to watch my daughter’s choir perform and see her get coached and encouraged.

It has been a whirlwind of the last 16 hours. So many little moments. So many people I love. So many things to be grateful for.

Life is good. Really, really good. ❤️✨

Some days, you wake up feeling like you’re on top of the world. ☀️✨

Your heart feels light. Your energy is good. Everything just seems to be falling into place.

When you have one of those days, protect that feeling. Lean into it. Play the music. Take the long way. Laugh a little louder. Do the things that make you feel alive.

You don’t have to save that joy for a “better” day.

Some days are just really, really good.

When you get one, soak it all in. ❤️

Today feels like one of those days. And I intend to enjoy every second of it. ✨
