The past month has been chaos…

I’ve not been able to post as much between studying for the CFA and hiccups with the build. But, I’m hoping to post more as I get my study schedule figured out!

The subframes and suspension are completely in. New bearings, vaporhoned aluminum, and new axles to complete it. Everything was done except sending the diff out to be rebuilt, that will happen though…

Now everything is ready to start sanding and prepping the body for paint. We’re testing about a half dozen different custom colors.

What a journey…

Picked this car up 3 years ago as a non running project. Was told the hot and cold side just needed to be reassembled, good old Facebook marketplace. Safe to say it had problems beyond that and a big one was the engine made anywhere from 0-30psi of compression. Fun fact, I’ve not actually driven this car yet…

But here we are, 3 years into it, getting ready for paint and a completely rust free, acid dipped GT-R.

Can’t thank everyone enough for the support, especially my wife who’s had to put up with the craziness!

The car won’t be done for my 30th but because of that, we’re adding a couple of details to the project scope to set it apart by @obsidian.werks

It’s been a year since the car came back from acid dipping… what a year it’s been. The GT-R went from a rusted out shell to a solid, restored platform. I’ve learned a lot and have met some incredible people through this year. Thank you all for following along, this next year will be even better! by @obsidian.werks

It’s been a great week.

I had a college buddy over the past few days and we got some Gtr stuff sorted out. My front sway bar links didn’t look right and we got those sorted out.

We spent a good portion of an afternoon getting the front bumper trimmed for the HKS intercooler. And got the silver CSF radiator painted black to match the rest of the build. I’ll take the orange peel off the radiator but the black looks so much better! The PRP tabs look fantastic, can’t wait to get the rest of the red PRP parts on.

Life has been crazy while I get ready for my test but we got the final coat of super build down!

Round 1 of sanding is done….

Finished up sanding the first coat of super build. We’ll go back over it to hit and small lows and bare metal. The last coat will be sanded to 320 grit before the final coat of primer. We’re getting close to paint!

Rear subframe and front suspension are together. The build is coming along nicely! Will start getting the body blocked once the car is sitting on its tires. Shouldn’t be long till we are ready for paint! Still pushing to have the car done before my 30th…. by @obsidian.werks

The GT-R intake is done, @remade_in_usa_ crushed this one. His work speaks for itself and this intake will be the cherry on top of this build. I highly recommend working with him!

Paired this with the @dahtone_racing ITBs and DBW, will be a fantastic street car. by @obsidian.werks
