$I love this micro dot 50s style dress . This was a recent commission for a birthday girl on her 60th. The skirt is cut in a full circle with a fitted v-neck bodice and capped sleeves. I modelled the pattern on the dress form. As my lovely customer is a boobilicious lady, I needed to pad out the dress form with one of her bras. (This dressform is only a B cup). The fabric is a cotton blend bengaline, and the material in the skirt was very heavy, which meant it pulled on the shoulders, so to redistribute the weight, I added a waist belt to the dress. My customer also wanted a waspie belt to wear with her dress. The waspie was boned with steel boning and I used a coutil and black bengaline fabric accenting the boning channels with black satin bias binding. With this business, I produce lots of fabric scraps. I'll be honest. Most get thrown away, but over Xmas, I made this gothic scarab beetle from bits of velvet.
