Guess who’s coming to South Restaurant & Jazz Club?

OBSIIDYN!

In many ways, this feels like a homecoming. South was one of the first venues that provided me space and opportunity to share my gift of music when I first moved to the East Coast. Being back at South is truly special.

On October 25th, I’ll be honoring my time here performing some of the songs that many of you have come to know me for. Alongside me that night will be my killer band including @timbreymusic, @_khiondrums, @samharrisbass, and @csmusic1.

So come out, grab a drink, grab a bite, bring your people, and get ready to get lost in the music!

Two shows! One night! One hell of a time!
(And that, I guarantee!)

6:00 PM & 8:30 PM

Tickets are available through the link in my bio.
See you there! 🖤 by @obsiidyn

WOW! What a whirlwind these last few months have been. It is rare in life to be presented with TWO incredible artistic opportunities at the same time, and with immense gratitude and excitement, I said yes to both.
Serving as Assistant Director for Jagged Little Pill while simultaneously starring as Porgy in Porgy & Bess stretched me in the best possible ways. These experiences allowed me to use my gifts, sharpen my skills, collaborate with two phenomenal production teams, casts, crews, and creatives, and continue growing both as an artist and as a human being.
Thank you Ivie, for trusting me to help bring your vision for Jagged Little Pill to life. Your passion, drive, and artistry are undeniable, and you truly have the gift to create work that impacts the masses. It was an honor to stand beside you through this process.
Thank you Darryl, for giving me the opportunity to be part of a production so historic, beloved, and meaningful to me. Your guidance challenged us all to rise to the occasion. Because of your vision, we were able to show this region — and audiences far beyond it — the caliber of artistry, excellence, and professional talent that exists right here in our theater community.
Jagged Little Pill family— thank you for trusting my guidance, your vulnerability, your openness, and for allowing me to be even a small part of your artistic journey. Watching you all grow, connect, and tell this story with such honesty was truly special.
Porgy & Bess family— thank you for the level of storytelling, passion, and heart you brought into that space every single night. Together, we created something deeply human and deeply moving, and I truly believe the people who experienced it left forever changed because of the work we did together.
And finally — thank you to every single person who supported these productions. Please know that the outpouring of love overwhelmed us in the most beautiful way. Your support reminded us why storytelling matters. For that, I am forever grateful. ❤️ by @obsiidyn

Even a cappella… it’s enough to stop you in your tracks.❤️

Stephan Burse and Erica Imani Liburd as Porgy and Bess deliver a performance that truly brings tears to your eyes. Take an inside look rehearsal at Gershwins’ PORGY & BESS, opening in under two weeks at The Ritz Theatre Co.!

Set in Catfish Row in 1930s Charleston, this powerful and deeply human story follows Porgy and Bess as they navigate love, danger, and the hope for a better future. Featuring iconic songs like “Summertime,” “I Got Plenty of Nothin’,” and “It Ain’t Necessarily So,” this rarely produced masterpiece holds a unique place in American musical history.

For the very first time, this Gershwin classic comes to the Ritz stage and you won’t want to miss it.
