A little reintroduction, because there are some new faces here… and I love to see that.

I’m Ashley. Give me an iced latte, a good Pilates class, a margarita with Tajín on the rim, or a reason to rearrange my entire living room, and I’m happy. I love a conversation where we cover approximately 17 topics and forget how we got started.

Beauty has been part of my life for a long time, and I’m the friend who wants all the details when you find something good. Naturally, when I found Oliveda, keeping it to myself wasn’t really an option.

Three years later, it’s part of my daily routine, my work, and somehow even took me to New York Fashion Week. But it’s also how so many women I now call friends came into my life. And that’s my favorite part.

I think I finally got tired of my own BS.

Tired of wanting more for my life while letting fear talk me out of it. Tired of giving so much space to things that made me anxious or stole my joy.

So I started letting some of it go. I got honest about the life I wanted. I wanted to say yes more, romanticize the ordinary days, and stop waiting until I felt completely ready.

As soon as I started asking for what I wanted, things began happening at lightning speed.

Recently I was asked to speak on a team call. Public speaking would normally scare the shit out of me, and honestly, it still does a little. But my first thought this time was, “I want to do it.” I’m grateful for the opportunity, especially because I know it’s going to stretch me.

I do believe God meets us when we take a step. Sometimes that step looks like being done with the ways you’ve been holding yourself back, even when you don’t have it all figured out.

I know where I want to go. And I’m done letting fear decide how far that is.

Three years ago, at the end of September, I came across Olive Tree People and felt that little intuitive nudge to pay attention.

I’d spent over 20 years working with women through beauty, and the idea that nature could be at the heart of skincare immediately spoke to me. I loved the products. I believed in what Thomas was building. So I said yes, without really knowing where that yes would take me.

This business has stretched me in ways I never expected. It’s asked me to trust myself, use my voice, and keep showing up even when I feel unsure. And the women I’ve met along the way? Some of them have become the kind of friends I can’t imagine my life without.

I’m still doing brows. I’m still a mom. I’m still me. But I’m also so proud of the woman I’ve become over these last three years.

And honestly? I feel just as excited about being here today as I did when I first found the products. Knowing where this company is headed and what’s coming next makes me so grateful I listened to that nudge.

I had a conversation today about how easy it is to lose little pieces of ourselves along the way.

Not because we meant to. Life just gets full.

Careers. Motherhood. Marriage. Responsibilities. Schedules. Taking care of everyone and everything.

And somewhere in all of that, we stop doing some of the things that once made us feel the most alive.

I think one of the most beautiful parts of getting older is realizing you can go back for them.

The girl who loved getting dressed up just because. Who dreamed big. Who was creative and curious and a little more carefree. The things she loved before she ever wondered whether they were practical, productive, or what anyone else thought.

Maybe honoring your inner child isn’t about living in the past.

Maybe it’s about remembering what lit you up before the world got so loud and giving yourself permission to follow those things again.

Because every time I do, life seems to light up a little too.

NYC — Part Three

Started off walking in the rain to the dreamiest brunch ever @jams_nyc… and honestly, walking through New York in the rain felt straight out of a movie.

We spent the afternoon wandering, shopping, stopping to see St. Patrick’s Cathedral and, of course, hitting the three-story Anthropologie where Nicole and I ended up buying matching jammies.

Then back to The Pierre to get ready for our team dinner.

One of my favorite parts of this trip was finally meeting women I’ve known through Instagram and this business, but had never actually met in real life and we all immediately connected like we’d known each other forever.

Hearing Magda share the heart behind Olive Rose and how deeply personal this line is to her made the night even more special, especially knowing what we were about to experience together the following night.

NYC — Part Two

Next up was Summit One Vanderbilt, an immersive experience way above the city with mirrored rooms, glass floors and some of the craziest views of Manhattan. It was honestly SO cool and unlike anything I’ve ever done. Between the reflections, the skyline and those giant silver balloons floating around us, it all felt a little surreal.

One of the sweetest surprises of the trip was finding out that our friend @mywanderingtable daughter was in New York for her very first Fashion Week runway show. Obviously, we had to go support her, and getting to watch her walk the runway was SO freaking cool. It was such a special moment to be there for and one I won’t forget.

Then dinner at Il Buco, which might be one of my favorite little spots @vickerman_wellness found in the city. You walk in and immediately feel like you’ve been transported somewhere in Italy. Tiny, warm, charming and absolutely hopping. The food, the atmosphere, all of it was so good… and we even had a little celebrity sighting while we were there.

After dinner, we wandered around Nolita and stopped into Jac’s on Bond, another very hopping spot… and quickly realized we might not be cool enough for it. 😂 The music was LOUD, getting a drink was a full-contact sport, and after about five minutes we looked at each other like, yeahhhh, we’re out.

So we headed back to The Pierre for cocktails where we could actually hear each other talk.

Just one of those New York days where somehow an entire little movie unfolds before you make it back to your room.

NYC — Part One

From the moment we landed, @olivetreepeople made us feel so special. We were picked up at the airport in a beautiful car waiting for us, taken to the gorgeous Pierre Hotel right across from Central Park, and walked into our rooms to flowers and gifts waiting for each of us. It’s all the little details they think of that somehow never feel little. They truly go above and beyond, and I’m so grateful I get to be a part of it.

We got ready and headed to T Bar for dinner, then ended our first night with drinks back at The Pierre.

But waking up the next morning was when it really hit me… we’re in New York.

Coffee in hand, perfect weather, walking through Central Park and just soaking it all in. The people, the sounds, the buildings, the energy… everything felt exciting.
