Moving through a hoop on a breath hold means you’re managing buoyancy, body position, momentum, and breath control all at once. Add a partner and suddenly you also have to anticipate their movement and adjust yours in real time.

Every unnecessary movement costs energy and, underwater, energy = oxygen.

2 years ago today, June 1, 2024, I started an ocean challenge of getting in the water every day 🌊

It all started as a summer challenge, now 730 days later and somehow I’m still at it 🤯

I’ve jumped in oceans, lakes, rivers, and snow across the world and have met some pretty incredible ocean lovers along the way 🌎 Turns out the world really is your oyster 🦪

I couldn’t think of a better way to celebrate than closing out my month long Asia trip with @bigoceanworld. A local Thai ocean gal who brought some of the magic of the last 2 years to life. We spent 2 days freediving, exploring, and shooting underwater. I’m beyond inspired by her talent and the ocean life she’s created for her self. She pushed me to take keeping my own leaps too and let my love for the ocean guide my path. 🐠

I still have so much to catch you all up on from this trip, but this milestone deserved a real time celebratory post. 💕

Cheers to 2 years in the water, every day 🧜🏻‍♀️

Kind of cool that the only place you can see air is in water🫧🌊

A thought brought to my mind by @gabby_buda a fellow mermaid 🧜🏼‍♀️

You spend your entire life surrounded by something you can’t see. You breathe it in and out thousands of times a day. It keeps you alive, but it’s completely invisible. Until you go underwater.

Suddenly, the invisible becomes visible. Every exhale turns into a little reminder that you’re carrying an entire atmosphere around with you. And if you get the timing, the shape, and the movement just right, you can turn that invisible thing into a perfect little ring that travels through an entirely different world 🪄
