So excited to finally share this new song “Silverfish” with you all. A lot has happened since the last time I put out music, and I can’t wrap my head around most of it but for me, “Silverfish” is a song that gives voice to much of what I can’t comprehend or express. It’s far more intimate than anything else I’ve put out, and that’s probably why it stayed in the vault for so long. But art is meant to be shared yk. Eventually these things need fresh air.

Big shoutout to @alejandro_quilesss for producing and playing the drums on the song. Whenever I work with you, it feels like we’re tapped into the same world together. You brought this song into a direction I could never have imagined. I’m so proud of what we made.

Grateful for my friends, my band, my family. you all inspire me so much.

Mastered at @raxtraxchicago with @shoemakerrecording 🫡

(Tokyo🇯🇵 -> Bologna🇮🇹). visited the haruki murakami library, ate lots of eel, and got to read hegel on the shinkansen. then i gave my first talk at a philosophy conference at university of bologna, and all went well :) Also got to lay down for a little while which was nice.

I decided to release music i’ve been sitting on for a while. “Silverfish” comes out next week july 17th:) artwork by @dale_pesmen by @oceanmarco

The new Ocean Child single “Sun” is out now on @spotify 🫶 it’s my favorite song ive written, and i’m so grateful i get to share it with you :) Artwork by the wonderful Dale Pesmen.

I’d like to give some special thank-you’s. @hyra312 , my best friend, my musical other-half, and one of the most talented musicians i’ve had the chance to work with — you truly speak through your instruments, and it has been a privilege to communicate back to you through what we create together at the studio, practice sessions, and on Sundays🎶

“Sun” was mastered by @shoemakerrecording — it has been a joy to collaborate with you on this song. you’ve allowed this piece to bloom in a way I never could have imagined. Tracked & mastered at @raxtraxchicago

Recorded with the mighty @alejandro_quilesss - my friend who pushes and inspires me even when he is away at Peabody. Our time together has been an incredibly freeing experience for me - this song could not be completed without you!

to my band; i feel incredibly safe and free with you—and the music has always come from that free space. truly a place of love.

and of course to you all. i spent years keeping my music all to myself— and what a wonderful privilege it has been to be able to share this expression with you.

This song is dedicated to Jordan. by @oceanmarco

Recording “Benton Steps” was so fun. This was the song that made me realize how cool Stratocasters can sound (Shoutout @fender for sending me this gtr 🥰). I wanted every instrument to sound overly-compressed and extra slinky so I ran all guitars and bass through a cranked compressor pedal. Enjoy this snippet ;)

The band and I have been summoned by @dmbo_depaul to perform at the DePaul Battle of the Bands❤️. Really grateful to be a part of this community, and so excited to finally meet you all by @oceanmarco
