So amazing to meet individuals and groups from all over the globe - Australia, Argentina, Canada, Israel, Germany, Netherlands, New Zealand, Peru, Portugal, Scotland, Spain, South Africa, UK and the US - offering surf as therapy to treat so many mental and physical issues our populations face today. Even better was the research based results and testimonials of real impact all of these groups are having!

Back to School! Excited and thankful to have @oceansglobal accepted back to UCLA for its new Social Enterprise Accelerator this quarter. Our last experience at UCLA propelled us towards officially launching our water-based therapy program helping those in recovery from substance abuse. Ocean Lovers! Independence Day is just around the corner! We want to remind everyone that July 5th is historically the dirtiest beach day of the year following America’s birthday. When we beach recklessly, life in and out of the ocean suffers. It's on ALL OF US to protect our oceans and beaches from plastic with a year-round, collective effort.

This year, we are endorsing @reef’s #RestoreYourShore campaign in supporting @surfrider to prevent July 5th from becoming the dirtiest beach day of 2019.

FOR EVERY POST USING #RESTOREYOURSHORE, REEF WILL DONATE $5 TO SURFRIDER IN 2020.

For #worldoceansday take a moment to appreciate its beauty, power, bounty, scale and all it provides. And, remember that some action is better than no action. Whether it’s donating your time to an ocean related NGO, individually collecting trash on the beach, moving away from single use plastics, educating yourself on the benefits of the sea and the challenges it’s facing or utilizing it to become a better you; let’s all take steps to protect our ocean so that we can benefit from her for generations to come.

Epic surf session today. We had multiple guys with injuries, non-lovers of the ocean and a non-swimmer; everyone caught waves! The experience provided a trifecta of benefits; physical, mental and emotional. Even spiritual for some! We enjoyed hearing their stories and seeing them on a path healthiness and positivity. Stoked to have the guys connect with the ocean and kick off the weekend with some good times.
A big thanks to @aquasurfschool for partnering and supporting the day. Their professional approach and charismatic team made all the difference when managing 10 guys in the water at once. .
