Ocha, short for Orisha, means spirit or deity in the Yoruba religion. Like the name, there’s spirit and soul in the music of Ocha Records. @casamena

Here’s little story about a country gospel song called Ain’t No Grave written by Claude Ely in 1934. It was recorded and performed in a more Black Gospel style by Bozie Sturdivant in July 1942. Over the years it has been covered many times but most famously by Johnny Cash in 2003 right before his death. It was later released in 2010.

This brings me to 2024. Meet @tiffanyaustinmusic a talented Jazz singer from the Bay Area. She covered the song beautifully and it caught the attention of Bay Area producer, and my brother @djcecil . He did his thing and with her haunting vocal back in early 2019. I’m so excited to be able to share this with you now on @ocharecords . Also check out the vibes on @ezelmusic remix, it’s 🔥! #housemusic #aintnograve #ocharecords by @ocharecords

🚨 new tune 🚨
Ritmo de Eleggua by @horvat7138 and @casamena on @ocharecords

‘Ritmo de Eleggua’ channels ancestral rhythm through a hypnotic, late-night lens. Andreas Horvat and Carlos Mena craft a sonic ritual that pulses with Afro-Caribbean spirit and deep house mystique-where synthetic textures and sacred cadence meet on the dancefloor. It’s spiritual, percussive, and hella deep.

Produced by Andreas Horvat
Vocals written, performed by Carlos Mena
Mastered by Cody ‘Coflo’ Ferreira for MindBodyAudio @coflothesoulshifter
A&R: Coflo
Executive Producer: Carlos Mena

For those of you not familiar with Tamara Wellons, she is the jazzy, soulful spirit that brought you the 2007 hit Oh Well. This is her 2nd single from her upcoming full length on Ocha Records and is already getting support from Mr. V, Karizma, Jojo Flores, Osunlade and Marques Wyatt.

Jihad Muhammad starts it off with the original mix in very sexy, musical way with some wonderful piano work. It is then handed off to Abicah Soul and Lars Berhrenroth who put their unique spin with a remix and dub respectively that will move any crowd. And last but certainly not least, members of our Yoruba family, Andre Torquato and Rafael Moraes (2/3 of Nomumbah) bring their mix of organic and tech to insure big rooms will have a summer banger for 2008.
