🥾✪ Have you started your OC Parks Jr. Ranger Program adventure yet?

🏞️ The free OC Parks Jr. Ranger Program is available at 20 OC Parks facilities, including regional, wilderness and historic parks. Explore OC Parks in a whole new way and earn badges and prizes for completing park activities! 🔦

🌳 Designed for ages 7 to 12, the OC Parks Jr. Ranger Program encourages participants to explore the outdoor world by developing a sense of belonging and becoming empowered park stewards.

Here’s how it works: ⬇️

1️⃣ Visit a participating park or join a guided Jr. Ranger activity and pick up a regional booklet from the park office or nature center during open office hours. You can also download one at ocparks.com/jr-ranger or the link in bio.

2️⃣ Complete the activity page for the park you’re visiting AND at least one “Anywhere Activity” within the regional booklet.

3️⃣ Bring your booklet with the completed pages back to the park office or nature center and an OC Parks team member will administer the Jr. Ranger oath and present you with a park badge. 🎒 Earn additional prizes for completing a regional booklet or earning all 20 Jr. Ranger badges.

OC Parks is excited to announce Con Cada Paso: A Visual Celebration of Relámpago del Cielo Grupo Folklórico is now on display at the Old Orange County Courthouse in Santa Ana.

In collaboration with Relámpago del Cielo, Inc., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit cultural arts organization, the exhibit was developed in-house by OC Parks staff and features interpretive panels, photographs, authentic folklórico costumes and more.

Admission to the Con Cada Paso exhibit is free and available for viewing at the Exhibit Gallery in the Old Orange County Courthouse Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. now until January 2027. Visit the link in the bio to learn more about the exhibit.

Fall is just around the corner, and typically when Irvine Regional Park experiences increased visitation, especially on the weekends. The park entrance may be impacted, and the park could close to vehicle traffic if parking reaches capacity. 🚗

Beginning tomorrow, Saturday, Sept. 19 through the end of October, overflow parking is available on Saturdays and Sundays at Santiago Canyon College, 8045 E. Chapman Ave., Orange, CA. The college is approximately a half mile walk to the park. Parking is $2 per vehicle, and overnight parking is not permitted. 🚙

Advance reservations are now required for the Pumpkin Patch on select weekends. Visit the link in bio for more information. 🎃
