Ocyra（alias Vector Field）
@ocyra_

Ocyra is a producer and DJ from the West of France. Shaped by his background as a broadcast sound engineer and the 1990s rave explosion, he crafts sound worlds where hypnotic rhythms, deep atmospheres and organic textures converge. Alongside around 60 self-released records on Bandcamp, he has released music on labels such as DeRio, Somnia Records and Oslated. In 2024, he made his Japanese debut at VENT and DOMMUNE in Tokyo, and Bar NU in Matsue. Through both DJ sets and productions, he connects the heritage of Detroit techno with a contemporary experimental vision.

A special collaborative night by PROTEGO—a party organised by Dawn Ever (So Oishi and ΛSYL)—and ASTMA’s kerakai series that focuses on the revival of IDM, is set to take place at Shibuya’s MIDNIGHT EAST.
The line-up features Aerae, a French artist making her first visit to Japan, who releases music fusing techno, downtempo and experimental drum and bass on labels such as Samurai Music and Annulled Music, and another French act Ocyra, also known as Vector Field and Stigr. Joining them on O-EAST 3F will be comm, who is set to release a new EP on the Madrid-based druidstep label 95 Open Tabs, and the co-organiser Astma himself.
In AZUMAYA, alongside Dawn Ever, three local acts will be performing: Dr. Nishimura, a veteran who is highly respected both as a member of the DJ trio ‘Akuma no Numa’ and as a skilled record buyer; YELLOWUHURU, the head honcho of a party collective FLATTOP and has recently expanded his activities overseas; and lostbaggage, a DJ and organiser who energetically plays at clubs and festivals of all sizes across the country.

Ocyra (France)

Originally from the West of France and trained as a broadcast sound engineer, Ocyra became fascinated by the sonic possibilities of electronic music through 90s rave culture and the pioneers of Detroit techno. Active as a vinyl collector for decades, his early fascination with sound, texture, and audio craftsmanship continues to deeply influence his work today.

Previously performing as 'Vector Field' and 'Stigr', his sound merges hypnotic rhythms, deep atmospheres, and organic textures, creating music on the boundaries of mental techno, ambient, and contemporary club music. Having self-released around 60 records on Bandcamp, he has built a prolific catalog, alongside releasing and remixing on labels such as Oslated, De Rio, Secuencias Temporales, Somnia Records, and Face Æ.

Drawing inspiration from sci-fi, nature, and the intersection of technology and emotion, his audio engineering background enables a meticulous production approach, while his rave roots preserve a strong connection to the physical energy of the dancefloor.

Following his 2024 Japanese debut at venues like VENT and DOMMUNE, Ocyra creates immersive listening experiences that balance emotional depth, sonic exploration, and rhythmic intensity, connecting the heritage of Detroit techno with a modern experimental vision. by @ocyra_
