Hello, let me properly reintroduce myself

I’m Odufa Onalugho a passionate librarian, literacy advocate, and creative curator dedicated to celebrating books beyond their pages.

I’m honoured to share that I am
• The first African to curate and host a book cover exhibition in Africa
• The first Nigerian to curate a book cover exhibition in Nigeria

To celebrate World book Day on April 23rd, my exhibition, “The First Look: Where Art Meets Literature”, is currently showing at the Alliance Française Mike Adenuga Centre, Ikoyi, @af.lagos and will run until the end of May.

They say, “Don’t judge a book by its cover”… but for this exhibition, we intentionally do.

The First Look explores how book covers serve as a visual prologue shaping emotion, perception, curiosity, and the reading experience before the very first page is turned.

From typography to colour, texture to composition, every design element tells a story of its own.

This exhibition is more than an art display; it is a celebration of literature, creativity, publishing, and visual storytelling.

Special thanks to everyone who contributed to bringing this vision to life.

Today, I lift my heart in gratitude to God for the gift of Odufa.

Every reflection from the past years family, faith, health, purpose, opportunities, people, businesses, even the struggles was not random.

All of it has been pointing here. To me. To the truth that “Odufa is the gift that never stops giving”.

I am grateful because in me, God has planted seeds that bless not just myself, but everyone around me.

Through Odufa, love flows, ideas are born, faith grows stronger, and hope is rekindled. To be Odufa is to be a vessel chosen, equipped, and constantly poured out so that others may be lifted.

But this journey does not end here. Gratitude cannot be confined to 9 days it is a rhythm of my life. Every day forward is another chance to live as Odufa, another chance to give, to shine, to love, to serve, to grow, to plan, to glorify God.

So while the “9 Days of Gratitude” comes to a close, my life of gratitude continues. Because Odufa is not a chapter it is the whole book. And as long as God gives me breath, the story of Odufa will keep unfolding, blessing, and giving without end.

For this, Lord, I remain forever grateful.
